We were lucky to catch up with Mery Tevosyan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mery, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As a nail tech from Armenia who has been living in America for the past 9 months, my mission is driven by a deep passion for blending artistry with personal care, while also bridging cultural gaps. My mission is to provide not just exceptional nail care, but also a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel valued and heard.
The meaningfulness of this mission lies in my own journey of adapting to a new country and building a life from scratch. Through my work, I aim to create a space that reflects the same support and acceptance that has been crucial to my own adjustment. Each client interaction is an opportunity to share a piece of my heritage and to offer a touch of comfort and beauty.
Mery, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! I’m a nail technician from Armenia, now working in America for the past 9 months. My passion for nail artistry began in Armenia and has grown into a career focused on delivering exceptional nail care and unique designs. I offer services like manicures, pedicures, and custom nail art, blending traditional Armenian techniques with modern trends.
What sets me apart is my commitment to quality and personalization, reflecting both my heritage and the latest styles. I’m proud of how I’ve adapted to a new country while continuing to bring creativity and care to my work. My aim is to provide a welcoming space where each client feels valued and enjoys a customized experience.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I first moved to America from Armenia, I faced numerous challenges. One particular moment stands out: shortly after arriving, I set up a small nail salon in a new city, eager to build my business. However, my initial days were tough. I struggled to attract clients, and the unfamiliarity with local preferences and competition was daunting.
Determined to succeed, I immersed myself in learning about American trends and client preferences. I attended local beauty events, connected with other professionals, and adjusted my services to better align with what clients were looking for. I also reached out to local Armenian communities, offering special promotions to introduce my unique blend of traditional Armenian and modern nail art.
Gradually, my efforts paid off. Word-of-mouth referrals grew, and clients appreciated the fresh perspective and quality I brought. The initial struggles were tough, but they taught me the importance of adaptability and perseverance. This experience reinforced my resilience and commitment to my craft, turning a challenging start into a successful and rewarding journey.
