We were lucky to catch up with Merry Huerta recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Merry thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?

Yes I do take vacations. I believe it’s very good to work and run your business but also, we all need a break and a few days off to read and enjoy our family and friends.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I started my printing business back in December of 2020 before the pandemic started. One day I was thinking “what’s one thing people need everyday?” And that’s how I came up with the idea of my printing business. I started from decorating mirrors with flowers to printing out banners, business cards, shirts etc. I would’ve never thought my business would still be standing and that’s from the support of my customers who are like family to me. I won’t say it was an easy path but it has been some bumpy roads I had to cross to be able to be where I’m at today. The thing I’m proud of my business is having the opportunity to provide for my kids, buy my first vehicle and home. To my clients and future clients, I want to bring your dream to life. If there’s something your been wanting to start, don’t hesitate to take that jumó to do it. It’ll all work in your favor.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The way I got my clients and audience was thru social media. I did constantly posting on Facebook and Instagram. I found selling groups, joined them and posted my work everyday, no matter if they got taken down, I kept posting. I didn’t care if I didn’t get likes or shares , I just knew there was always someone out there watching my work and saw the potential I had in myself.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

I sale all my items on Facebook. What I did was create a business page and pay for Facebook advertising. They do all the advertising for me and I take care of the customer.
