We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Meron Tadesse a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Meron, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Persistence. You do not have to be the smartest, fastest, etc. You just have to never give up. Eventually, you will either succeed or learn from your mistakes, and then pivot into success.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
My story is a little different. Growing up I wanted to be a doctor. I planned my life around the medical field. I volunteered at medical offices every summer, and even took Latin in high school to better understand medical terms. That all changed when I entered college. I realized that I did not like the medical field at all. From there, I decided to completely change my major and startedtaking businesses c
Currently, I offer business and tax law services through my law firm Tadesse Law. Our services mostly consists of helping people start and maintain their business as well as fighting against the IRS for my clients.
Today, I am most proud of helping my clients the best way that I can, even if that means going the extra mile. I always try to have my practice run efficiently and as seamless as possible.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The book, Think Rich Grow Rich, is my all time favorite book. It really illustrates the notion of having a strong mindset in whatever you are trying to accomplish. The book also provides real life success stories that are inspiring and eye-opening.
People see your success and have no idea what it took to reach that point. However, the core is ultimately your mindset.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After law school there were not many legal jobs that I was interested in. I interned throughout law school so I had experience in several law areas. At the time, the majority of the job openings were in personal injury or criminal law. Instead of taking one of those positions, I decided to start my own practice. This was a pivot from the traditional route of working for a firm prior to starting your own practice.
