Meridy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I certainly hope that my legacy is that I was able to interpret my clients needs and provide interiors that make their life better in some way . That being said, I hope that I have created environments that reflect the owner and make them feel fufilled , confortable and proud . Regardless of the location or size home , I hope that each space that I am involved in reflects a home lived in by someone with good taiste .
Meridy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an Atlanta native with a husband who develops and builds fabulous houses . He inspired me to dive in & is always supportive. Our two daughters are in college , a senior golfer & small buisness owner & a freshman , former competitive cheerleader . I greaduated from a small coloege with a PR, advertising degree , then attended a 3 year interior design program at Ga. State .
I definitely got lucky and followed that up with a lot of hard work to get where I am .I have a small high end interior design firm located o Miami Circle . I have completed projects in New York , Ayls Beach ,Wellington , Fl. , Lake Burton, Yellowstone Club , Troubadour Club, Mountaintop, Chatooga Club ,Lake Martin, Mystique Island…. as well as many local projects. I love working from the 1st architectural meeting to the toothbrushes !
I definitely try to take the stress off and limit the decisions that my clients have to make . Building and desinging spaces if fun for me , I try to help my homeowners maintain this since of easy !
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation is strickly word of mouth ,I try to be logical in my billing , straight foward with my designs and produce a home that reflects to the homeowner .I have just been lucky that my work has always produced more work ! Having never entered the Designer of the year contest or participated in a showhouse, I salute those who have!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
With design , dogs and life , we designers always keep in touch with clients …there is always a next step, repair, redo , life change and just a hello that keeps us in touch !I love the fact that I do multiple homes for most of my clients. I have been so blessed to have mostly fabulous clients that both trust and respect me . This mutual respect is huge !
