We recently connected with Meredith Gadd and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Meredith thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
The cost in general and they fact my profession can actually exists. Education is like breathing; and, breathing is free.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As New England’s leading independent educational consultant, I offer a unique perspective shaped by my extensive experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. Having served as a Director of College Counseling at a prestigious boarding school and as an Admission Counselor at the collegiate level, I’ve developed a deep understanding of what makes a successful college application and how to find the best institutional fit for each student. This expertise positions me as an invaluable resource for families navigating the complexities of the college admissions process.
I specialize in NCAA recruitment, helping student-athletes navigate the challenging process of securing spots at top-tier programs in conferences like the Big Ten, SEC, Ivy League, Big 12, and America East. I take pride in working with athletes in sports such as alpine ski racing, hockey, football, basketball, and baseball, guiding them to achieve their dreams both on and off the field. I understand the importance of finding the right fit—not just athletically, but academically—so your child can excel in their sport while securing a strong foundation for their future success.
My approach to the college process is unique; I view it as a leadership journey for high school seniors rather than just traditional consulting. I am committed to helping students find colleges that will both challenge them and build the confidence they need to succeed in their future careers. My philosophy centers on providing personalized, strategic guidance that highlights each student’s strengths and aspirations.
For families along the New England Seacoast seeking top-tier college consulting, my track record speaks for itself. I am passionate about empowering students with the tools and insights they need to thrive academically and athletically, ensuring they are prepared to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. With my extensive experience and tailored approach, I can confidently guide your family through this pivotal transition with clarity, purpose, and confidence.
My dedication to community and civic responsibility is evident through my active involvement in various organizations and initiatives. As a mentor with the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), I invest my time in guiding emerging professionals, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment in the field of college admissions.
I also serve on the President’s Advisory Board at Colby-Sawyer College, where I contribute to strategic discussions that enhance both student experiences and institutional growth. Furthermore, as a member of the Admission Committee at the University of Tampa, I play a key role in shaping the selection process, ensuring the recruitment of diverse and talented students.
My commitment to professional development is reflected in my involvement with the Professional Development Committee for NEACAC, where I help create opportunities for growth and continued education within our region. As a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, I extend my passion for mentorship by making a positive impact on young people in my community.
Through these various roles, I am dedicated to giving back, uplifting others, and strengthening the educational landscape, with a focus on creating inclusive and supportive environments for students and families alike.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Colleagues, and bosses, are really people and also lack confidence. Unfortunately, don’t let a bosses lack of confidence impact your understanding and depth of knowledge. Validation is sacred, and one should only strive to achieve their own goals.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Personalization. But above all else, a genuine care for watching teenagers thrive and follow their first leadership path and decision— because that is what the college process is all about.
