Alright, Mercedes thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you manage your own social media?

I honestly manage my own social media accounts. However, I am looking to hire a team/company to manage my page as well as clean it up. Nonetheless, I feel it’s important as artist or even owning a social media account to create content as much as you can. As individuals, we can tell when a page has professional help, it lacks feelings and at best, visuals. So yes, I definitely feel as individuals we should create and post content as much as possible but most importantly videos, reels and be proactive with your followers and fans. Additionally, it’s okay to create a system or even so, have professional help to help you organize that very content. Structure is indeed important.

Mercedes, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

The Family Entertainment is a NYC based entertainment company. The Family Entertainment was iniated in the month of August of 2020 and quickly established itself with a non-stop series of musical events bridging the gap betwixt Hip-Hop/R&B and the community, introducing many artists like Moneyhouse Kev, FTF, SLMGOD, FX3 and the labels very own first lady; Belle aka Queen Belle. T.F.E originally from South Jamaica, Queens, home to the many greats like Nas, G-Unit, 50 Cent, RUN DMC, Q-Tip, Kool G Rap, LL Cool J, Cormega and more. What can I say? Queens really Get The Money! The Family vows to Get This Money too but not to engage in the riches but to build richness within our community, within ourselves. We vow to give voice and reach the people as a whole to educate and give them opportunities they cant even imagine, Its bigger than the music. However, our company uses music, showcases, parties and more to reach beyond the charts, reach the people. Its starts with one dream, one step, one voice and one family and that’s us. Without a solid family there’s no nation.

The Family Ent or The Family was actually a family that came together and created music inside their very home, the kitchen. I started this company with my two children and old partner. Our young children were very talented when goofing around or making a song or even so, a dance. One day, i decided to put them to the test & I’ve built them a home studio not knowing how far we will come. Not having too much knowledge about the music industry, i decided to do what i knew how to do best, throw a party and allowed my artist (children) to perform and this event was more than successful. This led to a non stop series of events, which gained attention of Power 1051 very own Power is Industry & celebrities, radio and more. However, my main job, is a bit of everything; content creating, marketing, music management and booking agent while juggling motherhood and my last semester of college for business. Being in the underground world of music, there is a lot of artist doing the same thing or even so, independent labels throwing artist showcase. So for the family, we try to focus on the love and experience that we as a whole give off. Once attending my event, everyone leaves saying they’re, “The Family for life.” That’s exactly the goal here is to build a better community, unity amongst one another; build a family. A family for those who lack, or feel alone, or struggling without a voice or someone to lean on. I’m most proud at the fact that, we were able to help many people, from clothes drive or even so helping a individual enroll in college, or housing. We have a mission and that’s the people!

The Family provide many services from artist development, marketing, booking artist shows or other companies booking our very own artist for events. Anything under entertainment we have it from dancers, choreography, recording studio, venues and more. Our biggest attraction are our young artist known as F.T.F ( For The Family) F.T.F is a young rap group, consisting of three teen boys, whom are brothers. Their age ranging from 15-17. They are our hottest attraction, good young men who are very talented. So you see The Family is like Cash Money wit Young Money; our young money being F.T.F. Our brand became something everyone feel welcomed to, everyone is The Family while doing it For The Family.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for us in growing our clientele was using marketing tools. Some companies or artist will just distribute their music on a music marketing platform, whish is fine but certain things are needed if you really want to make a career out of music. Music marketing platforms are streaming services, radio, and social media; all the different spaces where musicians can promote their music and connect with their audience. Marketing tools, on the other hand, can help you analyze your performance and amplify your success on these platforms.

Marketing platforms and tools work hand in hand: you can’t reach an audience without a presence on major digital platforms, but cutting through the noise and putting together a successful marketing strategy requires the right instruments and the right insights.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think what helped build my reputation within my market of business is my credibility and consistency. Credibility is important for one, the goal of any business is to grow. Credibility in business is key in helping my company attract both employees and customers as well as investors. It can also work in favor when applying for loans, negotiating terms, troubleshooting production issues or requesting an extension on credit. Success as a leader and the success of your organization depends on it. Credibility stems from your perceived competence and your trustworthiness. Credibility takes time to build, but it can be torn down in seconds.

For anything when implementing success, consistency is essential. Consistency in business is far more important than you can imagine. Being consistent allowed me to establish awareness, build trust and deliver artist services efficiently and profitably. Which leans back into the credibility of my business.
