We recently connected with MENDEL MCCOY and have shared our conversation below.

MENDEL , appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I knew that I wanted to be a stylist when I started creating outfits that I envisioned of having.with this I grew a sense of personal style and started receiving compliments and traction with how I dress. I started making what I wear a priority even if it was just to go to the grocery store I would dress up then overtime individuals would ask me where I purchased certain looks from and. That grew into asking me to style them but I would do it willingly not with intentions of making it a full career until I did my first photoshoot as a stylist ,and saw how I was in control of the images and the importance of an amazing look!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

knowing nothing about the industry I knew I wanted to be apart in some way yet didn’t know how to start or what I was actually passionate about ,while on instagram I ran across an amazing organization called Haus of Brown featuring Yassy Brown .with this organization we were able to create environments for the creative community in Houston.networking events fashion shows and more I created a family and genuine connection with everyone I began to network with,exploring more of my love for fashion I began to build relationships with different photographers and collaborated building my portfolio as a wardrobe stylist and from there my clientele grew.

I’ve learned the industry through passion, dedication, and a keen eye for style can take you far. As a self-taught wardrobe stylist, i has honed their craft through years of experimentation, personal study, and an unwavering commitment to my clients.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

If we can all just be open mindset and respect each others differences I think that society as a whole will be a better place when it comes to supporting.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My Goal is to be one of the greats to come out of Houston and I have all of the potential to do so. My goal is to do it all music videos,red carpets ,award shows , movies and more. I feel since being that I’ve accomplished so much thus far I see no limit with my future
