We recently connected with Melody Maria and have shared our conversation below.
Melody, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The vision and idea of creating Wine on Wheels Mobile Beverage Experience came from a background of a series of life events. I had always had a dream of owning an Airstream and traveling across country. I also envisioned owning a winery, and employing all of my friends, so we could all live/work/dream together. In addition, I was always joking with my friends that somebody needs to come up with an adult equivalent of an ice cream truck!
The delightful mobile bar concept seems a natural progression of my background and experience and dreams. Wine On Wheels is a nomadic concept that stemmed from my upbringing. I was born in Wisconsin, raised between Saint Paul/Minneapolis Minnesota to Sedona, Arizona to Austin Texas. Living in Florida for 7 years now full-time and have been self-employed in marketing, sales and the bartending service industry for 26+ years.
The resulting vision was a bar that could travel anywhere – one that was anything but cookie-cutter. On any given day you might find W.O.W. at a bar mitzvah, family reunion, corporate event or wedding. The trailer’s customization was completed in October of 2018 and debuted at its first event that same month!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I have an eye for detail and design, and revel in custom matching our Mobile Beverage Experience to your special occasions.
Often, that vision includes craft cocktails with fruits, herbs and honey selected from local farmers markets. Fruits may be dehydrated, for garnish as well as flowers frozen into ice cubes for extra Instagram worthy photos.
Handmade juices, freshly pressed and locally sourced, take mixers to new heights. The trailer can, and does, dispense any type of beverage – it can even double as a stylish Mocktail Station.

Responsive and open line of communication while planning events.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I work alongside our team, and I never would ask anyone to do anything that I haven’t done before. I like to be open for feedback at all times, because I believe that anything can always be done quicker and more efficiently
