Melody, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?

One of the most impactful experiences in my career was working as a kindergarten teacher after university. I learned the power of confidence and guidance in helping others realise their potential. I saw talents in children—whether in languages, creativity, or sports—and always encouraged their growth. This taught me that confidence is key to unlocking one’s abilities. Over time, I realised I needed to apply that same belief in myself and my own dream of becoming an actor. This experience not only shaped my approach to teaching but also fuelled my passion for performing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My journey into acting began unexpectedly in Sydney, when I met director James Pratt, who invited me to assist with post-production on his film Malibu Crush. His passion for filmmaking and determination to build a Hollywood career inspired me to pursue my own long-held dream of becoming an actress. I realised I could no longer ignore this calling.

My first role was in a drama with talented film students, where I had three pages of lines. The experience of working with professional film gear and a skilled team was exhilarating and gave me the confidence to continue. The set was at Dudley Page Reserve, offering breathtaking views of Sydney, the Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House, making the moment even more memorable.

As an actress, I’m committed to creating authentic performances that resonate deeply with audiences. I pride myself on passion, growth, and the genuine connections I build both on and off screen.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

One of the most impactful resources for my entrepreneurial and personal growth has been Eckhart Tolle’s books, The Power of Now and A New Earth, which I read in 2019. These books profoundly shaped my mindset, helping me embrace the present moment and truly connect with my authentic self. Since then, I’ve felt more grounded and confident in who I am, allowing me to enjoy the life I have. Tolle’s teachings have empowered me to continuously explore my true passions and purpose, fostering both personal growth and motivation to pursue my goals with honesty and clarity.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My creative journey is driven by a deep passion for seeing others achieve their dreams and life goals. I find immense joy in witnessing people realize their potential and succeed. My mission is to be part of that journey—both by achieving my own dreams and by inspiring others to believe in themselves and pursue their aspirations. I want to show that anything is possible when we stay true to our passions and remain dedicated to our goals.
