We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Melo Bermon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Melo below.
Alright, Melo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I wanna say the first absolute first time was when my parents held a Michael Jackson dancing competition amongst my siblings. Of course I danced my ass off and won. It was then that I really understood how much I love entertaining people, and just bringing them joy. I was like 3 years old at this point, and my parents held this competition every couple of weeks. It was really refreshing. Another time that really inspired me to pursue this path was when I dropped a song on Soundcloud when I was a freshman in HS. Nobody expected it, and it was being talked about all on Twitter. It let me know how much I enjoy shaking up what’s. considered “normal”.

Melo , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an American born Nigerian with a burning passion for everything music. Some say I’m a rockstar, but I refer to myself as a superstar. I feel like it encompasses more. I honestly want to entertain, but not like a comedian or jester, but more so like you’re watching reality TV. I want to laugh, bleed, and cry for everybody to see, but through my music and visuals. Everything I talk about, or show comes from a genuine, real life place. I feel like that alone sets me apart a great deal. Also, nobody expects me to make the type of music that I make. I guess compared to how I look and carry myself. I want my fans to really understand that whatever they’ve went through or are going through, there’s somebody that was in the same boat and survived. Whether it’s heartbreak, depression, family issues etc.. That’s what music did for me, so I want to do my due diligence for others because music saved me.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want the world to find solace in me. I want to be there for people by sharing my experiences, and conveying these messages in the most genuine way that I can. You’ll be able to hear it in my voice.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think NFT’s are here to stay. For authentication purposes in this digital age, it will do exactly what it needs to.
