Melissa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
Before I got started in real estate, I worked for the yellow pages. That experience taught me how to do cold calling, door knocking and for every 500 no’s look forward to the one yes! It was hard work hitting the pavement daily and I feel a valuable asset to helping me hone my skills getting into real estate.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started in real estate 23 years ago and received my Broker’s license in 2005. I am also the Official Agent of the San Diego Padres for going on 10 years and the only agent they have ever endorsed. My work ethic and dedication and persistence is what has driven me to excel year after year. I am very much more goal oriented and result driven than any monetary compensation and love helping buyers and sellers and making a difference in people’s lives during the transaction and for years to follow. I use technology and all aspects of marketing to get my client’s top dollar and best terms when selling and to help buyer’s my negotiation skills and communication to make their offer stand out compared to any competitors. I truly am driven by hard work and tenacity and love what I do and making dreams come true. My husband and 3 daughters are supportive of my efforts and dedication and allow me to achieve all levels and highest rankings.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with clients by giving quarterly gifts and also sending cards during the holidays as well as calling/text or emailing throughout the year to say hello or to see if they would like tickets to a Padres game or ask if I can be a resource for them. I brand myself as their agent/broker and Official Agent of the Padres plus my Coldwell Banker affiliation as well.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being professional, kind and humble but efficient and responsive. I always do the right thing and want to make sure to have a good rapport with all other professionals in my industry and have a smooth transaction and good communication skills.
