Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melissa Pisani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Melissa, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

As a purpose driven entrepreneur I not only want to be successful, but I want every venture to have a positive impact in people’s lives. First I am a wife to the most amazing man Matt and mom to 3 beautiful children (Mercy 5, Malakai 3 and Magnolia 6 months) . Family is my priority and what drives me to be an example to our children to pursue their passion that is not self focused but is rooted in helping others.

Clean Slate Living is the non profit my husband and I spearhead. Our Mission is to reach every child, teenager and young adult by sharing our “Rewrite Tomorrow” message through our “Clean Slate” presentation.

Each in-person and virtual program, and media includes individuals with stories of overcoming various real life struggles.

Our hope is to encourage others that they are not alone and they are “Worthy” to clean their “Slate” and “Rewrite Tomorrow”.

We believe that every person deserves a second chance at life. Most importantly, we want our audience to walk away knowing that they have a “PURPOSE” to fulfill and that they are “WORTHY” of love.

The Puzzle Is Real Podcast: Matt and I discuss all topics revolving around “Faith, Family and Relationships”. Our goal is to bring a message that is not only relatable, but one that encourages and challenges us all to go deeper in our faith.

Nala the Bulldog (children’s book). Matt and I co-wrote our 1st children’s book loosely based on our dog Nala. She is a French/English bulldog who is unique and we wanted to convey that message to our young readers. It’s a sweet rhyming book about self worth and declaring that they are perfect just the way the way they were created.

Melissa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Everything I pursue and take part in has my heart behind it. My mission in all of my ventures are to bring change, encouragement, and to use my gifts and talents to glorify God. Whether that be in a children’s book, podcast, or on our Clean Slate Living platform. There is so much more to come and I am excited to bring the message of hope and love to people near and far.

How’d you meet your business partner?

Matt (my husband of 8 years) met on a blind date. My hairdresser Carlton at the time and Matt’s good friend set us up on a blind date. There are so many incredible details to share but I will give you the short version. We met on a blind date, got engaged in 4 weeks and were married in 6 months. God truly has knit our stories together because both of our hearts are to uplift people around us. Matt had started Clean Slate Living before we met based on his story of overcoming a drug and alcohol addiction. Once we got together I stepped in to bring the message of “WORTHY” which focuses on identity and self worth. We didn’t want to stop there so we started our podcast “The Puzzle Is Real” to go deeper into our story, experience and faith. The children’s book “Nala The Bulldog” was birthed after our daughter Mercy. We wanted to use the theme of the book to encourage children that they are perfect in all of their ways. There are no mistakes and to embrace their differences. Matt and I love doing life and have a “mission” focused marriage. It’s amazing to bounce ideas off one another and turn our visions into reality that bring real change into people’s lives.

How did you build your audience on social media?

We are authentic. What you see is what you get. Matt and I are the same people on the street as we are at home. I think Matt and I are both genuine and loving people who truly care about others who may be struggling in different areas. We haven’t figured it all out yet but I think our audience sees that we wear our heart on our sleeves.
