Hi Melissa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

As a military spouse that has had to relocate every two to three years for the past 12 years. I have had the privilege to have worked in different career fields.

Since I was fifteen years old, I had always been so curious and had wanted to work at a bank.
When I lived in Colorado, and Germany I worked as a teller for a bank & credit union. Those opportunities are what have led me to this day. Once I mastered the teller position, I started advancing. I loved learning about the financial world. My goal while working at the credit union was to learn about loans. I was intrigued and needed to know how it all worked, so I did. And… Well that’s when it was time to relocate again but this time we were getting stationed in America. Charleston, South Carolina to be precise. After moving and having to do a home purchase alone due to my husband having a short tour assignment in Portugal for one year. I knew I needed to get a job in order to not lose my mind due to the loneliness we encounter as military spouses. SO! Seven days after arriving, and closing on our home, I was starting my new job. As a mortgage coordinator for a start up mortgage company. I was thrilled to continue learning about loans, and this time mortgage loans. During my experience as mortgage coordinator for two different mortgage companies. I started branding myself and creating my own business. CREDIT is connected to everything, so I knew I had to start there. Now, my team can help with business credit coaching, credit repair, loan approval coaching, business loans, guidance to becoming a homeowner, real estate and much more.

I’m Melissa Koester, business owner of Koesters – Financial & Real Estate Solutions. In a weird way, I think I might be in this industry because of my parents. Growing up they always taught me about credit. I have been fortunate to have known all the information that told me what not to do. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t always been super cautious. When I was younger I did go over board on 1 credit card. After that, I told myself I would never get into debt like that. Being taught at an early age, really does matter. This information was kind of engraved in my brain. To me it’s important for people to understand how credit works. Once, someone understands, everything will make sense. I encourage everyone to retrieve their free annual credit report every year, after year.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?

Yes, various revenue streams are very important. You don’t just want to rely on one. Always have stuff coming in from all different ways. We are affiliated with companies that compensate with commissions and residual income. One of the affiliated companies, we are partnered with, is how we are able to make the magic happen with our credit clients. Our team also offers basic social media marketing services. Real estate transactions such as, selling, buying, investments. We sure will stay busy!

How did you build your audience on social media?

Wow, well before relocating back to America. I was a ghost, I never posted, completely off the grid! Ohh… I do miss those days. :D When you haven’t been active in such a long time you forget who to even add, or what to post. I know social media is a MUST for every businesses growth. I’m currently growing on social media feel free to follow and show support.
