We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Melissa Infante. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Melissa below.
Alright, Melissa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, folks often look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight – but that often obscures all the nitty, gritty details of everything that went into the growth phase of your business. We’d love to hear about your scaling story and how you scaled up?
I’ve been a stylist for over 10 years, but getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but each one taught me something valuable and helped me grow. I don’t have a degree in fashion, so I had to work twice as hard to prove myself. I paid my dues by assisting, interning, and doing whatever it took to move forward. I made a lot of sacrifices, but I always knew it was all for the greater good.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a fashion stylist who helps brands develop a strong aesthetic and bring their vision to life. I’ve worked with top magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Vogue, Glamour, and many others. My celebrity clients have included Emma Roberts, Sting, Michelle Monaghan, and more.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I believe being a creative gives you a voice. It’s a powerful way to express who you are by doing what you love, it can even feel like a form of journaling. For me, it’s the most authentic way to show the world who I am. What’s even more rewarding is knowing that my work can inspire young minds, that they connect with it and learn from it. There’s nothing better than seeing people respond positively to something you’ve poured your heart into.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
For me, drawing from personal experience helps me infuse authenticity into my work. I believe you can get a sense of who I am through what I create. Every story I tell carries a piece of my personal struggles, whether it’s reflected in the mood, the tone, or the emotions I’m experiencing at the time.
