My journey with InvestHER Fiduciary Solutions is deeply personal and rooted in the struggles I’ve faced in the financial industry. As a woman of color navigating, I’ve encountered hurdles that seemed insurmountable. Yet, it’s precisely these challenges that have fueled my resolve to carve out a space where I can effect real change.
In founding InvestHER, I aimed to create more than just a financial service firm. The ‘HER’ in our name speaks to the heart of our mission: Helping Entrepreneurs Retire. It’s a reflection of the reality that while black women are the largest demographic starting small businesses, they remain at the bottom of the wealth gap. This stark disparity underscores the urgent need for targeted support and I’m committed to being part of the solution.
My experiences within a predominantly white, male-dominated industry have only solidified my commitment to leveling the playing field. InvestHER isn’t just about providing financial services; it’s about offering tailored guidance, mentorship, and a supportive ecosystem where women entrepreneurs can thrive.
Despite the uphill battle, my dedication to this cause remains unwavering. Every success story from our clients isn’t just a marker of individual achievement; it’s a step towards dismantling systemic barriers and creating a more equitable future for all. My journey into the world of financial planning began unexpectedly, while I was juggling retail work and completing my undergraduate degree. Despite not fully grasping the role of a financial planner, my love for math and numbers was evident, and I found myself naturally guiding my colleagues to maximize their 401(k) contributions.
Upon graduation, I pursued opportunities related to investments and banking, fueled by a desire to work with money. Serendipitously, my connection with the Mall Manager, whom I had befriended, led me to meet with his financial planner. It was during this encounter that my dream began to crystallize.
Starting as a captive agent, I embarked on a journey that eventually led me to establish my own RIA (Registered Investment Advisory) firm. Here, I offer a comprehensive range of services including insurance, investments, and consulting services. What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to the highest fiduciary standards, providing objective, unbiased advice, and crafting custom solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
One of my proudest achievements is becoming the first woman of color to attain the Certified Financial Fiduciary® designation. Through this journey, I’ve had the privilege of helping numerous families achieve their financial goals.
Above all, I want my clients and prospects to know that my doors are open to all, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other factor. As a relational advisor, I prioritize building meaningful connections with my clients and always strive to put their best interests first. Their well-being is not just a priority—it’s my driving force.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been a combination of Yelp, Google, and BBB reviews. Once I took the initiative to complete and optimize my profiles on these platforms, including adding pictures and actively soliciting testimonials from satisfied clients, I noticed a significant uptick in inquiries and referrals. These positive reviews not only serve as social proof of my credibility and expertise but also help to build trust with potential clients who are seeking financial planning services. By leveraging these platforms effectively and harnessing the power of client testimonials, I’ve been able to expand my client base organically and grow my business sustainably.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Staying connected with clients and nurturing brand loyalty is crucial for the long-term success of any business. I employ several strategies to achieve this goal, ensuring that my clients feel valued and engaged:
1. Weekly Newsletter: I send out a weekly newsletter to keep clients informed about relevant financial news, market updates, and tips for managing their finances effectively. The content is concise, timely, and tailored to their interests and needs.
2. Weekly Social Media Posts: I maintain an active presence on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, where I share insights, articles, and resources related to financial planning and wealth management. Consistent posting helps to keep my brand top-of-mind and reinforces my expertise in the field.
3. Timely and Relevant Content: I ensure that the content I share is not only timely but also relevant to my clients’ financial goals and concerns. By addressing their specific needs and providing valuable insights, I demonstrate my commitment to their success and well-being.
4. Consistent Distribution: I adhere to a regular schedule for distributing newsletters and social media posts, ensuring that clients know when to expect updates from me. Consistency fosters trust and reliability, strengthening the bond between myself and my clients.
5. Personalized Check-Ins: In addition to scheduled engagements, I make a point to call or text clients randomly to let them know I’m thinking of them and to check in “just because.” These personalized interactions go beyond formal appointments and demonstrate my genuine care and concern for their well-being. By reaching out spontaneously and authentically, I strengthen the personal connection with my clients and foster a sense of trust and loyalty that goes beyond the transactional aspect of our professional relationship.
