Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melissa Drucker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Melissa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think the main attribute to being successful is consistency. No matter how talented or motivated you are about achieving your goals, you will not get there if you don’t work at it consistently. For instance, if you wanted to accomplish anything you need to put not only positive energy into it, but also you can never give up. You have to keep going.
For example, with my brand “Professionalfloridagirl,” I have hopes and many goals to become a travel influencer so I can get paid to travel one day. I started posting TikTok’s on my account over a year ago and for a long time I was only getting limited views. However, just recently one of my videos I posted last January now has almost 20,000 views. Now my TikTok’s I post are getting a couple thousand views instead of a couple hundred.
What I’m trying to say is that consistency is key to success, because not only did I not give up on posting on my account, but because I did not give up, I have seen that the more consistent I am the more eye’s I get. I refuse to use bot’s so all my views are organic and I intend to keep it that way.
I have also observed with human nature in general that the more someone works at a goal they want to achieve, the more successful they are in achieving that. I also have learned by observing and by personal growth that just because you aren’t good at something in the beginning, the more you study, work, or practice; the better you will get.
So, practice really does make perfect and consistency is key to success. Plain and simple.

Melissa , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From the time I learned how to write, I was writing all the time. It started with poetry and song lyrics. Then in middle school I started writing stories and I knew I wanted to be a novelist. It was never a hobby that I “tried to get into” like it wasn’t something that I saw someone doing and said, “oh I think I’d like that.” Writing was something that just felt like the right thing to do so I did it and now twenty years later I’m almost 100 pages into writing my fantasy-romance novel.
Writing a novel is not something you just do on a whim, though. It could take years to build up histories, characters, and you also have to know where and how the story ends so that you can write the material in-between and plan it strategically. It took years for me to start writing my current novel because I never felt I was truly ready.
Ultimately, there came a point where I had enough outlines and world building done, that I needed to just start writing and ever since then I’ve really enjoyed the journey and seeing where each character is headed next. There are still a lot of challenges I face, but I have a great support system and plenty of beta readers!

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
If you’re a writer in 2023/2024 the best advice I can give is to immerse yourself into reading as many books in your genre as possible, as well as other books, because reading anything is never a bad idea.
I’d also suggest taking creative writing classes, or finding a writers group. They usually have them on the meetup app. You will be able to share your work with others and receive constructive criticism, as well as positive feedback.
If you want to learn more about the publishing world and story building if you don’t have the resources to pay for a class, then I’d suggest youtube, books on writing, and even tiktok. I learned a lot of publishing tips on tiktok.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative (writer), is the positive feedback I get from the people who read my material and become inspired by it or pulled into the story I create. Though money would be great, I write to inspire and to introduce people to my stories.
