Melanie, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Events by Melanie is a full event planning service that specializes in weddings and day-of coordination. Our mission is to deliver outstanding organization, professionalism, and dedicate ourselves to every detail to ensure we execute your wedding vision, no matter the size. Every wedding is unique in its own special way, and we do everything possible to 100% guarantee an incredible experience for our couples and their guests!

Hi there, I’m Melanie! I’m a proud female and Latina CEO and Founder of Events by Melanie. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, but moved to New York City over 5 years ago. I truly fell in love with the wedding industry when I got married and wanted to give couples the best experience I had! Given my expertise in corporate events and nonprofit organizations for over 7 years, plus having my master’s degree in Digital Marketing, I knew I wanted to create a company that not only embodies excellent customer service but gives engaged couples an incredible stress-free experience.
I’m proud of the short amount of growth we have gained in the wedding industry. We have been in business for a year, and we have already been impacting couple’s lives and being part of their wedding story. What sets us apart from other companies is that we truly want to get to know our couples, even if it’s our day-of coordination package. We meet with our couples on a weekly basis to capture their vision and dedicate ourselves to the details. We want our clients to be 100% confident they picked the right vendor and trust us to make their vision come to life.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
As a marketing major myself, I knew marketing was one the most important investments we had to do in order to get new clients and build our brand. I decided to partner with the largest wedding industry sites, such as The Knot and Wedding Wire to publicize my business to newly engaged couples. I have seen much success in gaining new clients through both channels and able to receive reviews from my previous clients.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is a critical marketing tactic every business should explore. The best first step is looking for a social media handle that matches your business name and be consistent throughout all channels. Begin following your previous clients and vendors you have worked with. If you already have a personal brand outside of your business, utilizing your personal brand can also help gain new followers. I’ve learned consistency is key with social media. Start a social media marketing plan to post everyday and use relevant hashtags to gain visibility.
