We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Melanie Snyder. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Melanie below.
Melanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time I honestly think that I would keep things the same. I was very fortunate enough to get a job right of college with another wedding planning company in the area and honestly, I never saw myself wanting to start my own business. After working for the company for a while, the Owner gave me an opportunity that allowed myself to open Melanie Paige Events + Design. I am a huge believer that things always happen for a reason and I truly believe that I was meant to start my business when I did, which was a little over 5years ago now (6years in January 2023).

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Sure thing! Once I started trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I got out of college, I immediately knew that I wanted to be a wedding planner. I went to High Point University and got my degree in Public Relations as well as a minor in Hospitality. Melanie Paige Events + Design is an Award-Winning Wedding Planning Firm with Certified Wedding Planners through The Certified Wedding Planner Society. We specialize in everything from Month-Of Coordination to Full Planning Services and also offer Design Services to all of our amazing couples. Our main goal is to make sure that you not only have fun while planning your wedding, but that you also feel like family with us because we truly do see each and every single one of our couples as our own family.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One main time that the business had to pivot (and I am sure a lot of people in the hospitality industry felt this too) was when COVID hit. It made everything that we all thought we knew about weddings go out the window. Not only did we have to arrange packages to accommodate those who may want a micro-wedding or elopement now, but we also have to change the way weddings were done to make sure we were accommodating the protocols.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I absolutely LOVE social media! To be honest, building up the Instagram profile to where it is now was a lot of work. Let’s also be real, Instagram can be really hard and with the ever changing algorithm, you never know if what you are doing is going to work or not. What I have had to learn is that as long as you are authentically you through the platform as well as consistently on it then your audience will come. It is also super important to always be engaging with your audience! Make sure you are always spreading the love around and not just when you are trying to get your followers to grow. It is important to support everyone in the same way that you want to be supported.
