We recently connected with Melanie Ginsburg and have shared our conversation below.

Melanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?

Currently, I co-lead a team of over 100 Realtors. When I first started my real estate business, it was just me and my soon-to-be-husband. We both love helping clients buy investment properties or sell for the best price, but we quickly realized that the roller coaster of chasing the next commission was not for us.
Plus, with over a decade of combined marketing experience, we knew that we could help so many other Realtors grow and scale their businesses, so we decided to start our team – the Royal Circle.
Recruiting the first few team members was really hard, because we didn’t really know what we were doing. We knew we had a ton to offer (especially since we don’t take any additional splits as team leads), but we had a hard time finding agents that were the right fit. Over time, we honed our process and now, less than two years later, our team is over 100 agents! I love helping them help even more clients, and help their clients even better. It’s such a win-win-win!
If I were starting today, I would do it totally differently! I would get super clear about our team vision and culture so that I’d be able to recruit the perfect people from day one. I have learned so much in the past two years about growing a team that I’m even working on a project right now to help other Realtors, brokers, and team leads grow a team without making all of the mistakes that I made!

Melanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Melanie Ginsburg, and I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was a little girl (my first business was selling blankets to my friends and family). For the majority of my adult life, I was running my own marketing agency. All I needed was my laptop – so I spent about 3 years traveling the world and running my business (it was absolutely amazing!)
When I got tired of traveling, I decided to move to Austin, which is where I met my now fiancé. He was already in the real estate industry, and he opened my eyes to the incredible opportunities it provides as an investment opportunity! The more I learned about real estate, the more excited I got – so I decided to get my real estate license!
Now, I love educating clients about how to use real estate as a financial asset (most buyers have homes that are liabilities)!
I spend most of my time working with my team, The Royal Circle, and helping them grow their businesses and become financially free!
My biggest passion is helping people achieve their financial goals – whether that is coming up with a plan to save enough money for their first property, teaching other Realtors how to scale their business, or simply showing people what is truly possible with the right attitude and roadmap.
I’m so proud that I got financial freedom at age 28, and I want to help over 100,000 other people do the same!!
My life has always been unconventional – starting my own business, traveling the world, and building a million-dollar business before 30 (to name a few things). I hope people look and me and realize that they can design their life however they want and that if they work hard enough, they can achieve all of their dreams! I’m proof that it’s possible!

We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.

One of my favorite things about my business is my cofounder – who also happens to be my fiancé! We met at a modeling event, which was actually a styled shoot for a wedding venue. I was there as one of the fake bridesmaids, and he was there as one of the fake groomsmen. We hit it off right away, so much so that the photographer even paired us up to be a couple!
We started dating shortly after that, and within a few months had decided to start a business together.
I know many people think it’s risky or foolish to work with your partner, but for me – I can’t imagine a better idea. Jordan is the best person I know (which is why I’m choosing to spend the rest of my life with him!). I respect him more than anyone, and trust him with my future and my future kids. Why would I want to build a business with anybody else?

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I used to HATE social media and refused to use it for both my personal and my professional life. In early 2020, when everyone began to rely much heavier on the internet to keep us connected, I realized that I was missing out on a huge asset for my business. To me, I truly believe that my business (especially my team, The Royal Circle) is the solution that thousands of Realtors are praying for. I realized that so many of my personal beliefs about social media were preventing those Realtors from ever knowing we existed. So I started posting from my heart. About who I am, about my values, my beliefs… about what I can offer.
I know my audience can feel my genuine passion and authenticity, and it creates a strong connection with those that resonate. Of course, there will always be people that don’t resonate with me, and that’s okay. For every 30 messages I get thanking me for my content and what I do for my team, I get 1 message from someone who is insulting me. To me, that’s totally worth it.
My biggest advice to anyone starting out is to just DO IT. Don’t worry about being perfect or getting lots of likes or even getting any likes. Think of it as documentation for YOU to track your personal journey. Post about what is helping you, what you’re learning, and how you are staying inspired. More than likely, there will be plenty of people who feel how you feel, and will be drawn to you because of it! The more you do it, the more comfortable you’ll get, and the more you’ll realize what your specific audience likes to see. Don’t talk yourself out of using social media like I did. It’s one of my best assets for my business, and I’ve made some of my best friends through social media too! You got this!
