Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Melanie Barnes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Melanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a customer success story with us?
We are a family owned business. We constructed our idea from the the business plan to reality. After many months of long days, late nights and hard work we were able to open our doors to the public. We were extremely blessed with the amount of support we received from the public. Just 5 months after opening our doors we experienced a terrible fire during an event. Luckily, everyone was safe, no one was harmed but the building was destroyed. Our family had to watch our dreams burn that night and it felt like, that was the end. We got our wheels moving to not only get a plan on how we were going to come back but we also had to work hard to help the couples who had events scheduled at the venue that could no longer take place due to this tragedy. The community reached out and offered a tremendous amount of resources for couples and our crews that were working hard to rebuild our dream that was lost. We know we couldn’t have made it through this disaster without the help of our community. 8 months later it was time, time for Hanover to open our doors once again. That day Hanover came back to life. The venue was filled with people, vendors, music, and laughter. Our dream was then restored.
Melanie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Three brothers, their wives, and 5 kids decided to take on a brand new adventure. It all started with talks about the destination we wanted to create for those looking for their perfect event oasis. The search for the perfect spot seemed to be impossible until one day when we saw a huge sign for 45 acres for sale. We conservatively checked it out, prayed about it, and the next thing we knew we were signing the papers, making this dream a reality.
We took the next year consulting with friends, family and local business resources to design the perfect location for any and all events. The final decision resulted in a beautiful wood, post and beam building that sits 1500 feet off of the road, overlooking a 2 acre pond, surrounded by nature. This combination would allow all of our guests to feel as if they were at their own private destination even though they were just minutes from Oxford, Hamilton, and 275.
It is important for all of our guests to know that we genuinely care about you, your event and your guests. We are honored that you have chosen us to play a small part on your big day. This is an opportunity that we do not take lightly. Our job is to exceed every one of your expectations.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Facebook and client referrals. We really focus on client experience when they are at Hanover Reserve. This day is a special day for them and we want to do everything in our power to ensure the day goes as smoothly as possible! Everyone goes to social media to look for pictures and information. It’s our way of staying connecting with our audience. It also gives us the opportunity to show off all of the hard work that our clients and vendors put it to make an event day beautiful.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Networking is a huge asset to our clientele growth. Every person you meet knows several people that you don’t, which could then lead to future clients.
