Events By Clark is a Luxury Rentals and Day of Coordination company that is on a mission to promote the awareness of prostate cancer in African American men. The owner of Events By Clark, Mela Clark-Pitts, has a personal connection to this cause, as she has tragically lost both her grandfather and father to prostate cancer. Determined to make a difference, Mela has decided to use her passion for executing luxury events to not only promote awareness but also donate a portion of the company’s proceeds to a non-profit organization that focuses on direct support, research, awareness, early detection, and health equity.
Prostate cancer is a significant health issue, particularly among African American men. According to the American Cancer Society, African American men are more likely to develop prostate cancer and have a higher mortality rate compared to men of other ethnicities. This alarming disparity highlights the urgent need for increased awareness, early detection, and access to quality healthcare for this vulnerable population.

Events By Clark was established in 2013 by Mela Clark-Pitts. Mela’s journey into the events industry began when she decorated a wedding for a close friend, which sparked her passion for creating memorable experiences. Since then, Events By Clark has grown to provide luxury rentals, coordination, and planning services for a variety of events.
Mela Clark-Pitts brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as the owner of Events By Clark. She completed her undergraduate degree at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), where she gained a strong foundation in event management and hospitality. Additionally, Mela pursued her MBA in the Washington, DC area, further enhancing her business acumen and strategic thinking.
Prior to starting her own company, Mela worked as a management consultant, where she honed her skills in project management and client relations. This experience provided her with valuable insights and the ability to effectively manage and execute projects in a professional setting.
