Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Meivys & David Suarez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Meivys & David, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

We are a husband and wife team and started our photography company together even before being engaged (crazy, we know… but love makes you do crazy things!) Photography was a hobby for Me (Meivys) and David, my husband was the one with the idea to turn this hobby into a business. Learning the craft started with experimenting with friends, family and lots of free sessions. As time passed and we got to know our signature style, we decided to invest in more education. We took courses from photographers we looked up to and tweaked their process to fit our goals and make it our own. To much surprise photography is much more than just taking the photos, its an art… The angles, composition, lighting, and editing processes are so unique to each photographer and something that develops with time, experience and taste. Learning our craft was so much fun because we were able to test so many different things in the process. Throughout the years, our signature style has become light, bright, yet vibrant. We focus on images that are timeless, joyful, distraction free and true to white. Besides investing in education early, I wouldn’t say there is anything else we could have done to speed up the process of learning our craft. The most essential tools is knowing your camera well and spending as much time as possible on learning your craft. The more you shoot the better you get and the more you find your signature style.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We’re a husband and wife team and we absolutely love what we do – photography! Our story began way back in 2011 when we first met and danced our first Salsa song. Two years later we started our very own photography business blending passion and creativity with natural-born entrepreneurship.

We believe in lasting friendships and great experiences, shared memories, and laughter as the cure to anything in the world. We believe in grand gestures, eskimo kisses, dancing in the kitchen, shopping, cafecito breaks, enjoying life, and fun – lots of fun!

We also believe that photography is our way of being part of your family and helping you tell your story – your story of life | love + business.

Our little family wouldn’t be complete without our Baby Girl and Puppy Kelvin!

We have daughter who loves cuddles and smiles. And we have a puppy in heaven watching over us. We are a Christ-centered, family-first business. We live to love and serve others and carry God in our hearts with every decision we make – personal or business.

When we started our business we knew that we wanted to be around people, that we wanted to take photos and capture the most important times in our clients’ lives.

What we didn’t know was that we’d become more than photographers for our clients. We didn’t know we would create a community – a family – of incredible people to share happy moments, fun stories, and belly laughs.

Our MSP family fills us with joy and the best part is that we get to continue to connect for every life milestone.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Our business is built on values and quality. We believe that our photography company stands out because we strive to deliver the photography experience our clients deserve. We connect with our clients from day 1 to plan everything with them from props to location to outfit selection. Its important to us that we get to know our clients because the more we get to know them the better we can serve them. We always strive to ensure we can build relationship with our clients and be their go to photographer for the most beautiful moments in their lives.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients for us is referrals, but secondly is instagram. We love to serve clients that are referred to us and take such great care of them. From our Instagram account, we get to connect with people in many ways whether its a DM, comment or viewing our content which is always geared towards educating current and new clients.
