Meika, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?

I truly love to serve my customers in this field. Many customers have contacted me with limited budgets and because I know at times certain customers may want a beautiful event but have limited funds. It has been my pleasure to be a blessing in this aspect over the years!

Hello Everyone
Chef Lady M here!

I am currently the owner of Lady M Soul2soul. I have been cooking since the age of 12 years old. I learned from the best which was my late grandmother Alberta C. Woods and my mother the late Blondell Holmes.

I have a passion for cooking and serving others. Although I am a native of Hampton, Va. Lady M Soul2soul travels all across the world when we are requested and booked.

While I have enjoyed full service catering for the last 15 years, I have recently decided to transition over to being a Private Chef starting January 25.

You can book me for you in home meal prep, private parties, cooking classes and more.

I am also excited to be working on my New “Talking” Cookbook “The Love Matters” which will be available in 2025.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I started this journey, I was in my home kitchen selling desserts. Until one day I received some disappointing news from the city. Sadly someone reported me selling desserts from my home. To be honest that day I wanted to quit. I cried and I was ready to throw jn the towel. I thank God for a Awesome Husband who told me that I wasn’t going to quit but I needed to find out what I need to do to be a legit business. Long story short I met a angel by the name of Carla! I told her my dream and vision and she believed in me and allowed me to use her kitchen. I am so grateful for her and her willingness to help! If it wasn’t for God, family and Ms. Carla I would be a non existent business!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I learned that you can do the same thing as someone else but make sure your gift stands out and be authentically you!
