Mehgan, appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
Showing our “customers” or friends and fan that we appreciate them is a huge part of the drag community. People work extremely hard to make their money and we are lucky enough to be able to dance around and provide entertainment for them and they tip us for doing so. Showing appreciation is a huge part of my career I wouldn’t be where I am today without that appreciation
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into drag as a 19-year-old boy in college, and fell in love with the art form instantly. Drag has been able to allow me to be my full, authentic self. I got into the art form of drag by watching RuPaul’s drag race in the first drag show I ever saw was here in San Antonio Texas. Since then I began to build a legacy for myself, and worked extremely hard to get where I am today and to be able to call myself a full-time drag queen. In my performances, you will definitely get dancing, tumbling acting, and anything else that my fulfill your needs..
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There has been many times where I have been scrutinized in this industry. There was once a time where I was called racial slurs by other queens. I feel I handled that very well and I was able to overcome that as the community had my back..
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
In this industry, most drag queens do have to start out by working for free, which means only getting tips from the audience and I am myself did that for at least a year and a half before I was able to work full-time as a drag queen.
