Meghan & Tracey Photography, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Meghan & Tracey Photography is run by Meghan Crotty & Tracey Wishik. Not only are we business partners, we’re also best friends.

Tracey and I met while working for a previous business called Little Nest Portraits in Ridgewood. After working together for a few years, the business was sold to us in 2020. After a year of owning the business under that same name, we decided to change our name to Meghan & Tracey Photography and moved our studio to Ramsey in April of 2022.

We are a boutique family portrait studio with an emphasis on Newborn, Maternity and Cake Smash Sessions. We don’t just take pictures, we walk our clients through the whole process and create beautiful, lasting artwork to hang in their homes and hold in your hands. We strive to give every client a relaxing, fun and unforgettable experience the second they walk through our door.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to document milestones for the families that come to us. Knowing that these photos we take will be cherished for years to come, brings us so much joy and pride.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

We think society can best support artists and creatives by showing respect for their process and way of doing business. In the photography industry, it’s become a place where everyone is comparing their pricing options and trying to find the cheapest option available.

Look for an artist who’s work you love, follow their social media, and learn about them as people through their platforms. If their pricing model fits in with your priorities, then it’s a match made in heaven!
