We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Meghan Stewart. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Meghan below.
Meghan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. When I was growing up my maternal grandmother lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I visited her often and those were my most favorite times. She had the most incredible life and lifestyle. Her and my grandfather were members at the local country club, they would take their boat to the Bahamas for weekend get-a-ways, and they were always going South to Miami to try the newest restaurant. From a very young age I was motivated and fueled by a desire to live in Florida and have a similar lifestyle. That desire moved me from Houston, Texas at 18 to go to The University of Tampa and finally get to live out my dreams in Florida. The lifestyle and weather in Florida is unlike anywhere else in the world.
I wanted to share my passion for Florida with others and that is what led me to real estate. Now I help people relocate to the Sunshine State and live out their dreams of retiring and living in Sunny South Florida. I am able to connect with all different people that have that same desire that fueled the entire trajectory of my life!

Meghan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I went to The University of Tampa for college, where I studied to be a Marine Biologist. It took a few semesters to realize this would be a challenging career path, so naturally I ended up in sales. I moved to Fort Lauderdale immediately upon graduating. I had always been fascinated by South Florida, the weather, and the diversity it offered. I worked in sales for a few years before getting my real estate license. Real Estate had always been a passion of mine, but I never knew where to begin or how to get started. When Covid happened, much like everyone else, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I finally made the decision to get my real estate license.
I took the chance and quit my full time job to pursue real estate and it was scary, but it immediately felt right. I knew I was following my dreams and everything was going to work out. It’s not always easy to give up the comfort and stability of corporate America, but when you know, you know.
I immediately started helping out of state buyers relocate to Florida, and it was destiny. I had been in their shoes and knew exactly how to make this a seamless and smooth process. My first year in business I helped over 25 families relocate or buy a second home in Florida. My specialty lies within introducing someone to an area I know they will be happy in. I am an avid foodie and know all the different cities and intricacies of South Florida. If you tell me what you like to do, I can tell you where you will be most happy living. My expertise of the South Florida landscape as a whole sets me apart from others in the field that focus on a niche. My niche is relocation and that can lead someone to a few different areas.
I am most proud of my work ethic and how much I have been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. I always want my clients to have an exceptional experience and will stop at next to nothing to make sure that happens. There is so much that goes into making a transaction happen smoothly and I pride myself on my ability to go above and beyond for my clients to make sure that is always achieved. I want my potential clients to know that I absolutely love what I do and that translates to me always being there for them. It goes beyond the transaction, if you work with me you get a friend and a resource for life.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
You don’t always have to be right. It’s such a hard lesson to learn! And I am constantly having to work on it. But it comes up so much in my line of work. Sometimes you just need to put your head down and let the cards fall where they may. You will meet people and be in situations where someone thinks they are undoubtedly correct, and you are very sure they are not, but almost always it is better to sit back and watch the clock run out then it is to argue or prove yourself and your point. At the end of the day, what you know on the inside is what counts! When I was starting off I felt that my age would somehow hold me back so I was always trying to prove myself, and I have really learned I/we have nothing to prove. I am a matchmaker and a deal closer and I always try to leave the drama out of it, and remember that everything is working for my good and in my favor.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Surrounding myself with great people and achievers and putting myself out there. I joined Tom Ferry coaching which opened up the door to connect with real estate’s most successful agent. I also joined a very successful team from the very beginning, The Platt Group at Compass. When you surround yourself with successful, hardworking, positive achievers it will undoubtedly rub off on you in the best way possible. I had access to amazing listings, listing agents, and could shadow working with buyers from the very beginning. I went to every open house, broker’s open, and networking event I could find to make a name for myself in the community.
