We recently connected with Meghan Clem and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Meghan, thanks for joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I’m thrilled to be a business owner each and every day! My business partner Katie Webb Brundige and I never entertain thoughts of what it would be like to have another job because being in this position allows us the privilege of creating something truly one-of-a-kind in our hospitality collection, Intertwined Inc. (doesn’t mean there are days without struggles and a ton of hard work!!!)
We’ve built a team of truly remarkable women each with diverse backgrounds and talents who bring their passion to work every day. The size of our team has allowed us to foster an empowering and creative environment that has extended to all aspects of our business and personal lives. On the business side, our successful internship program has seen 8 former interns transition into full-time employees!
On the personal side, our team members spend ample time together outside of work and support each other to achieve personal goals, as well. A large portion of our team just recently ran a half-marathon alongside members of our RAD Camp family, a physical goal multiple of them had been looking to achieve. RAD Camp is our almost entirely volunteer-run nonprofit for adults and children with developmental disabilities that has been ‘intertwined’ as the core of our business plans since the beginning.
Our biggest goal was always to create a supportive environment of independent and motivated women who have the potential to expand their skill sets and become industry leaders because of their creativity, resources and growth opportunities. It is this mindset from which we developed our newest business line RESERVE by Intertwined, a complementary room-blocking service for event professionals that allows them to make commissions on an otherwise non-commissionable task.
Getting to work alongside my best friend truly adds joy to every step of our entrepreneurial journey. Each aspect of our Hospitality Collection brings a unique fulfillment and purpose to our lives and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Intertwined Inc. is a luxury hospitality collection that specializes in creating custom and unique experiences through Event Planning, Production and Social Media Marketing. We are currently celebrating our 15th anniversary!
My expertise lies in organizing large-scale corporate events, conferences, grand openings, retreats and milestone celebrations. My attention to detail, clear communication and project management enables me to execute multi-day, fast-paced events that are as unique and dynamic as the companies we work with. We have produced events from the California Coast to the Amalfi Coast and everywhere in between.
In addition to event planning, I specialize in social media marketing and helping businesses to build their brand to connect with their target audience on digital platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and TikTok. Our goal is to ‘intertwine’ with our client’s mission and goals to develop effective strategies and eye-catching content that increases their engagement, drives traffic and generates leads.
In 2014, my business partner Katie Webb Brundige and I founded RAD Camp to provide camps and programs for adults and children with developmental disabilities. It is now the largest overnight camp serving people with special needs in the state of California! To us, RAD is much more than an adjective to describe our campers, caregivers and volunteers but ultimately stands for our overall mission to support, motivate and empower those around us to ‘Rise Above!’

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Katie and I first crossed paths in high school while volunteering at a special needs summer camp program. Over time, our shared passion for creating inclusive and transformative experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities led us to take over and rebrand this camp into what is now the largest overnight camp for adults with developmental disabilities in California!
In 2009, during the recession, I found myself facing a layoff. That’s when the idea of founding Intertwined, Inc. was born! We began working together on the floor of Katie’s first apartment, focusing initially on social media management and corporate events. Ultimately what fueled us wasn’t just the work, it was our friendship and this shared vision to make a positive impact through what we do.
That laid the foundation for our successful partnership across multiple business ventures that is bigger than we could’ve ever imagined. We are currently celebrating our 15th anniversary and had one of the biggest years yet in 2023! Last year, our team produced 115 events, maintained 41 different social media accounts and saw a 10% increase in new RAD Campers accepted to our transformational camps that were served by over 270 volunteers.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One big challenge we faced was feeling like we had to fit into boxes – whether it was choosing between nonprofit or for-profit ventures or specializing solely in social media or event management, everyone always told us we couldn’t do it all. However, we quickly realized that our strength lies in being anything but conventional!
By daring to be different, and mixing our passion for service with our knack for marketing and events we found the ultimate sweet spot. The intentionality of our brand name ‘Intertwined’ was not just because we liked it. We wanted to create a company and a culture where we were not only known for the quality of work we do but also for the quality of our people and impact.
You can indeed Intertwine your purpose and your passions and do it alongside the very best people!
