Hey, I’m Megan, the creative mind behind Arch Theory Displays! 👋🏼 As a budding digital designer and entrepreneur, I’ve set out on a mission to blend modern boho aesthetics with a touch of innovation while supporting fellow small business owners like yourself.

At Arch Theory Displays, I specialize in crafting one-of-a-kind, laser-engraved QR code signs and logo displays that are as unique as your business. My venture into the world of design and entrepreneurship began as a response to a significant challenge. In 2020, I experienced a severe arm injury that required five surgeries and a three-year healing process. During this period, I turned to art as a form of therapy and self-expression. In 2021, I founded Megan Walker Art Studio, where I explored acrylic pour painting and resin ocean art.

As I navigated my recovery, I discovered a passion for laser engraving, which ultimately led to the creation of Arch Theory Displays in early 2023. Specializing in engraving on maple wood, I design bohemian-themed arch motif displays tailored for female small business owners. These displays serve as unique, laser-engraved QR code signs and logo displays, adding a touch of elegance to businesses while fostering a sense of community.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

My journey from working in an office to becoming a business owner of multiple ventures has been a tale of resilience, adaptation, and unwavering determination. It all began in 2020 when a severe arm injury forced me to reevaluate my life and career.

The injury, which required five surgeries and a three-year healing process, marked a pivotal moment. While navigating the challenges of recovery, I discovered a newfound passion for art. In 2021, I founded Megan Walker Art Studio, embracing acrylic pour painting and resin ocean art as therapeutic outlets during my healing journey.

However, the physical demands of painting and resin art became overwhelming due to my injury. Faced with this obstacle, I made a crucial pivot, delving into laser engraving. This marked the inception of Arch Theory Displays in early 2023, where I designed bohemian-themed arch motif displays on maple wood for female small business owners.

The pivot didn’t stop there. In late 2023, my husband and I upgraded our equipment and co-founded MW Custom Laser Works, a new venture specializing in laser engraving. This collaborative effort reflected our shared commitment to creativity and entrepreneurship.

The necessity for these pivots wasn’t solely driven by a desire for change; it was born out of a need to prioritize my health and well-being. As a highly sensitive person, I recognized the importance of adapting my work to accommodate my physical and emotional needs.

Each pivot, from embracing art during recovery to transitioning from resin art to laser engraving, symbolized my resilience and determination to continue pursuing my passions despite setbacks. The journey of entrepreneurship became not only a creative outlet but a means of creating a more comfortable life conducive to my well-being.

What I’m most proud of is not just the businesses I’ve built but the ability to pivot and reinvent myself in response to life’s challenges. The story of these pivots is a testament to the transformative power of adaptability and the pursuit of a fulfilling and balanced life. It’s a narrative that continues to evolve, with each pivot leading to new opportunities and horizons.

Maintaining a strong connection with my clients is at the core of my business philosophy, and Instagram serves as a vibrant hub for this purpose. Through consistent engagement, I share not only the creative process behind my designs but also the stories of satisfied clients. One of the key strategies is leveraging Instagram’s interactive features. I frequently use polls and questions to involve my audience in decision-making, creating a sense of shared ownership in the creative process.

Client appreciation is a cornerstone of my approach. I regularly feature their custom displays on my Instagram, expressing gratitude and showcasing the diverse stories of those who have supported my brand. Additionally, personalized thank-you notes and messages are sent to clients, emphasizing their importance to the brand and expressing genuine appreciation for their business.

To reinforce brand loyalty, I’ve implemented exclusive content and offers on Instagram. Whether it’s sneak peeks of upcoming designs, limited-time discounts, or access to custom creations, I want my clients to feel they are part of an exclusive community.
