Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Megan Seibel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Megan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I believe that we are all creative in our own way and I think that the best way to learn something is to do it. I became an actor because I fell in love with theater at an early age. I loved the process of acting from start to finish. I loved the journey from the audition, to getting cast in a role, learning the script, creating the character, rehearsing with the cast, taking direction, getting it as good as you can and then performing it. It was not just the performing that I enjoyed, but the whole thing! And I did that process over and over and over again. Being human (the character) in pretend circumstances became easy for me as I learned my own craft. When I started creating content online, I was not that good at it because I had never done it before. But because my wellness coaching business required me to get good at it, I kept practicing and learning how to get better at content creation every day. I leaned into my creativity and learned a new art form and eventually I discovered my own style and process with content creation. I went on to build a successful 6 figure wellness business and because I was committed to learning how to create captivation content online, brands started reaching out and wanting to work with me.
The skills that were most essential in my success as a business owner, actor and content creator are: consistency, confidence and creation!! I know that those three things can be challenging at times but if I had to do it over again, I would have doubled down on daily actions to move things forward faster. I also would have chosen to step into my confidence sooner! Confidence is a muscle and a choice and we can all show up confidently when we practice being confident daily. And the most important thing you can do to learn your craft is to show up every day and create and practice your craft! Do it scared! Do it before you feel ready! And do it for fun every day and ultimately you will get paid for it.

Megan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a high energy mom of 2 boys who can make you laugh, teach you how to live a healthier life and inspire you to follow your dreams! I am a professional actor, certified Wellness Coach, Holistic Nutritionist with a Masters in Education and over 8 years in the online coaching space. After becoming a mom at age 33, I took a break from my acting and teaching career and decided to become a stay at home mom. I built my online wellness coaching business from home while raising my babies. A lot of opportunity came from me showing up online regularly and because I built a captivating brand online with @megwellness, I started working with brands and getting paid to create content online and eventually returned to my acting career as well! That was only possible because I was brave enough to step fully into motherhood, rediscover myself and try new things! I found an amazing community of women and a lot of new ways to create and earn income with my creativity!
My underlying focus with all of my work and all of my passions is to uplift and empower women to get healthy and live a life they love! Whether I am making women laugh with my Reels, showing them how to fit wellness into their busy life, sharing a new recipe or coaching them through my podcast, I try to always make women feel seen and heard. I want to inspire women to live life to the fullest and chase their dreams!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I opened my Instagram account in 2015, I had no idea what I was doing! I started sharing some food pics and sweaty selfies and pictures of me and my family. And my friends from Facebook started following me but that was it! But then I realized that when I posted a good eye catching well lit photo with a story in the caption, I got more comments and engagement! So I started sharing my wellness and motherhood journey daily. I shared funny stories and heart-warming stories. When IG stories came out I started using that as a way to show the behind the scenes and clips from me every day life and I also talked directly to the camera. People loved this! And I started to make real friends online and build real relationships. I did not just rely on new people following me, but I went out and followed and engaged with accounts I related to and accounts that inspired me. I built my community slowly over time. Nowadays with Reels, it is easier to reach more people and get your voice and message out there but I still think it is important to curate your social media by taking the time to go out and network and find community yourself. That will help you build your account! When you find another account on IG that you relate to and like, follow them, leave a thoughtful comment on a post and if they have stories, engage with them! Say hi and give someone a compliment. That kind of real human connection on IG goes a long way! Use Reels and use Threads to connect and share your thoughts and your journey. Be relatable and real with you content, that is what wins on social media! As far as posting, be consistent and post 5x/week and be your most authentic self. Don’t just post what you see everyone else posting, try to stand out and be unique and be yourself! Trust your instincts and find your own flow with content creation. You will figure it out!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative entrepreneur and an actor is making people feel things and creating more joy in the world. I love to make people laugh with my acting and my content and I love sharing my story on social media because it inspires others and makes people feel better! I love using my artistic talents in my day to day work and sharing it with the world. It is very fulfilling. And even though, I have faced challenges and a lot of rejection, I have experienced a lot of joy in my life from the choice to chase my dreams and pursue creativity as a career.
