Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Megan Rembielak. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Megan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I saw a need for online softball instruction. There were a lot of baseball videos online and not much softball. Many baseball fundamentals carry over into softball but I felt it would be beneficial to start something for females and to help out coaches. parents and players. I was already doing lessons full time and it was goign really well and it allowed me to get great content ideas from parents and players. I posted videos to the facilities Instagram page and it did well so thought why not start my own thing!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My business is called MegRem Softball. I started my YouTube channel back in 2020 when I saw a big need for online softball instruction. There were very few instructors who broke down drills and explained situations in detail. That’s where I feel I set myself apart from others because I am able to speak fully on a drill or subject. I make sure it’s simple and straight forward to where players of all ages and coaches can understand it. I cover infield, outfield, hitting and slapping along with game situations. I was doing lessons full time when I decided to film my lessons to get some content and on top of that, I was going in on my down time to film videos breaking down certain plays or situations. In 2021, I had someone approach me to do a clinic in Boston and once I posted that I was there and did those clinics, more people reached out to ask if I woud come to their city. Fast forward, I now travel the country a couple times a month and put on clinics for the youth along with coaches clinics. I am most proud of the work I have put in to get my brand to this point. I have worked tirelessly many years to bring educational online content to players. coaches and parents and to travel all over the country and be hands on with coaches and athletes. Because of that, I have become the #1 softball source and have been able to team up with some of the best brands.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I made sure to talk, instead of just show, while making sure the content was easy and straight forward. In the softball and baseball world, mechanics can get really complex so being able to help people understand so they can go out and teach it themselves makes a world of a difference. I also made sure to BE MYSELF and not try and do what others were doing to stand out.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes. I was nannying full time when I decided to give softball lessons. I started with about 3-6 lessons a week. After about 3 years, I took on more nights and lessons in the evenings while still nannying full time. Eventually, I decided to do lessons full time and that’s when I was able to get content for videos and post to my YouTube channel. When I moved to Florida in 2022 I decided to just do clinics and content as my main career.
