We recently connected with Megan Nieves and have shared our conversation below.
Megan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Being a creative, I’m always looking for ways to reinvent myself. I was always a big thinker so I would imagine myself doing things I knew I could do so the idea came easy. I went from creating music to selling apparel to photography.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m know mostly for music but I’ve always created other avenues where people are familiar with my brand. I am responsible for developing independent artists and bridging the gap with resources I’ve gained with my affiliation and history in the music business. I also have a reality show I’ve been filming showcasing my journey and involvement in the entertainment world. “Made for this” is out on Tubi, where season 1 is available to watch right now.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I know what it feels like to lose everything and have to start over. My motivation has always been self but when I became a mother the passion and drive heightened.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few years ago I experienced homelessness. Now I can say I sympathize with those who have gone through that. I learned a lot about myself from that experience. It was revealed to me who had my back when things got rough and who were only there to reap the benefits from my successes. This led me to join the workforce to regain control of my financial instability.
