We were lucky to catch up with Megan Nash recently and have shared our conversation below.
Megan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
While nutrition and health have always been a passion of mine, my career path was originally in fashion. During the pandemic in 2020 I knew this was the perfect opportunity to change careers and pursue what I truly loved. After completing my health coaching certification in 2021, I launched my business, Megan Nash Health, shortly after. From the beginning, I have met with clients virtually, so the initial set up was pretty easy. But as my business grew, I began to seek out platforms and systems to help combine all parts of my business into one place. Learning to control all aspects of a small business has definitely been a challenge, but each day I have learned something new and found a flow to manage my finances, marketing, operations, etc.
For any entrepreneurs who may be starting their own business, I would advise them to take a course or hire a business coach who can provide some direction on how to get started. Starting a business from scratch can be a lot to juggle at first, but it gets easier as time goes on. I would also recommend networking with those in your industry- it is great being able to speak to others who were in your position in the past and have like minded interests!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I work with clients 1:1 to help them feel their best while using a holistic approach focused on nutrition and lifestyle changes. I have seen first hand how much a healthy diet, quality sleep, a non-toxic lifestyle and high-quality supplements can change peoples lives. Everyone deserves to live at their optimal potential, and my goal is to provide the necessary resources to help them get there. My main focus is using at-home functional testing in order to first find the root cause of clients symptoms. Many clients experience fatigue, constipation, bloating, joint pain, foggy head, headaches and more. From there I devise a protocol to help bring their body back into balance. I have found that it is very important to test instead of guess, so that I can figure out what is actually contributing to how clients are feeling. This whole body approach has enabled me to see a holistic view of their hormones, digestion, detoxification, energy production, and nervous system. There is no one size fits all approach to health, and with the correct testing and guidance, every person has the opportunity to feel their best!
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back, I wouldn’t change a thing! I am very thankful for my college degree and corporate experience in a different field. Without it, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
What has helped me the most in my business is always keeping in mind my goal and purpose. I know I want to help others feel their best and I remind myself of this constantly. Another helpful tool I used when starting my business is not overthinking and just going for it. It is easy to get caught up in wanting everything to be perfect at first, but businesses evolve and grow over time. It’s important to put yourself out there and take it one day at a time, eventually you will look back and see how far you have come!
