We were lucky to catch up with Megan Morris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Megan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Vintage Charm Charlotte came from a very simple, recurring moment: walking into beautiful spaces—homes, offices, boutiques—and noticing that something was missing. There might be stunning furniture, curated art, and intentional lighting, but often the natural element – was either absent, dying, or an afterthought. I’ve always been drawn to the way greenery and florals can transform a space, but I also understood that most people—especially busy professionals and business owners—don’t have the time, patience, or desire to maintain live plants. That disconnect sparked something in me.
I started experimenting with faux botanicals and preserved moss, not to mimic live plants exactly, but to create intentional, artful pieces—fixtures—that felt like part of a room’s design. I chose vessels with character, some vintage as well as interesting contemporary pieces, and composed each arrangement with the same care and eye I’d bring to a piece of art.
What excited me most was realizing I wasn’t just filling a gap—I was solving a problem in a way that aligned with how my clients live and work. They appreciate beauty and intentional design, but they value ease. They don’t want to think about watering or replacing. They want pieces that last, that belong, and that enhance their environment without effort.
From the beginning, I knew this was worthwhile because I was creating something useful and beautiful. These are curated, maintenance-free designs that finish and elevate a space – effortlessly.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m the owner and designer behind a small, Charlotte-based studio that creates custom faux floral, preserved moss, and succulent arrangements—handcrafted to be permanent, maintenance-free design elements for homes and businesses.
I came to this work with a love for both visual storytelling and intentional design. As a mom and a business owner, I truly understand how busy life can be—and how important it is to create beauty in our surroundings without adding more to our to-do lists. Most of my clients feel the same way. They appreciate aesthetics, but they don’t want to worry about watering or replacing arrangements every few weeks. They want something that feels finished and considered—something that truly belongs in the space.
My work is rooted in that idea: providing beautiful, thoughtfully made arrangements that enhance a space without requiring upkeep. I treat each piece like functional art—carefully composed, often housed in vintage or character-rich vessels, and designed to be a long-term part of a room’s visual identity.
My arrangements are tailored, intentional, and made to last. I pay close attention to composition, texture, vessel selection, and scale—so each arrangement feels curated rather than generic.
I work with individuals looking to elevate their homes as well as businesses—boutiques, salons, and real estate professionals—who want their spaces to look polished and welcoming without the ongoing cost or hassle of live arrangements.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how often clients tell me, “This finishes the room,” or “I didn’t even realize what was missing until this arrived.” That moment—when something clicks into place and transforms a space—is exactly what I’m aiming for.
At the heart of it, my brand is about making elevated design effortless. I want people to live and work surrounded by things that bring them joy and beauty—but without the stress or maintenance.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media (a work in progress) has been a gradual, organic process—one rooted in consistency, authenticity, and really showcasing the work I’m doing – the day to day aspects as well as the finished products.
Simply showing up and sharing what feels natural has connected me with some amazing clients and opportunities.
As a mom and a business owner, I’m mindful of how much time I can realistically give to social media. So I try to focus on quality over quantity. I’d rather post fewer, more thoughtful things than rush to fill a content calendar.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is this: don’t overthink it. Show up consistently, stay true to your voice, and be clear on who you’re speaking to. You don’t need to go viral—you need to connect with the right people. And remember, growth may be slow, but slow growth often means a more loyal, aligned audience in the long run.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
For me, the single most reliable source of new clients has been word-of-mouth—backed up by a strong Instagram presence. Here’s how it breaks down:
• Client referrals: When someone brings one of my arrangements into their home or office and it “finishes the room,” they often tell friends, family, or colleagues. That personal recommendation carries a lot of weight for busy, high-end clients who want to know they’ll get exactly what they expect.
• Instagram showcase + tags: By consistently sharing polished photos and behind-the-scenes process shots on Instagram—then encouraging clients to tag me when they show off their new arrangements—I get a steady stream of DMs and inquiries. Seeing one of arrangements in a real space gives prospects the confidence to reach out.
• Local trade partnerships: Collaborations with interior designers, real estate agents, and boutique retailers have also been invaluable. Designers know their clients value turnkey solutions, and they’ll turn to me to deliver maintenance-free installations that elevate a room without adding work.
The common thread is trust—whether it comes from a friend’s glowing recommendation, seeing my work in a space they admire on Instagram, or getting a designer’s stamp of approval. My advice for anyone building their own pipeline: focus on delighting every client so they become your strongest advocates, and use social media not just to broadcast your work, but to foster genuine connections.
