Megan, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

In January of 2022 my business partner and I were able to accomplish an amazing feat as well as mark a major check off our bucket list. To preface this a bit, my business partner Gordon and myself are also partners in life. We are both avid campers and love everything outdoors. We have been visiting Yosemite National park every year since our first visit in 2015; which was totally spontaneous, but that’s a story for another day. If you haven’t had a chance to visit Yosemite Valley, it is a truly magical place! Years before we ever started BirdsEye VR we loved spending time there and sharing our experiences with friends and family. Inside the park there is a very special location known as The Ahwahnee hotel, it’s a beautiful four star historic hotel embedded in the valley with gorgeous 360 degree views. The Queen of England and many U.S. Presidents have stayed there when they visit Yosemite. Since our first visit we absolutely fell in love with this Hotel and decided right then we would one stay at the Ahwahnee. Fast forward six years later, with a lot of ground work, planning and discussions, we were awarded the contract to bring the Ahwahnee hotel into 3D. In two days we were able to accomplish our biggest job to date. We can proudly say we captured 20,000 SQFT, including all specialty suites, ada compliant accommodations, private cottages as well as the entire first floor of the hotel. People from all over the world will soon be able to visit the hotel and book their room while viewing everything in 3D or a Virtual reality headset. The team at the Ahwahnee made all of this possible with their planning as well as professionalism, they were amazing to work with! Capturing history in one of our favorite places on earth was an unforgettable experience and one we will have permanently digitally documented for the world to enjoy forever. The cherry on top, Gordon worked with the incredible staff and planned an engagement proposal without me knowing, he proposed the last day of our work trip at a beautiful dinner in the dining hall, I said yes.

The BirdsEye VR team is a group of designers, engineers and industry professionals that have been creating virtual tours since early 2019. We believe NFTs are the future for many reasons. The digital ownership as well as proof of ownership provided by the technology represents a pivotal change to many industries. Everything from attending a concert or event to owning a home or car can be transferred as well as purchased seamlessly, all while being stored digitally on the respective blockchain. Specifically for our industry it holds a very unique value preposition. By creating a digital twin of a real world place, essentially a mini metaverse, clients can now hold digital ownership and utilize that to benefit their business. An example would be The Ahwahnee hotel; which we spoke about previously. Imagine that The Ahwahnee can now live on forever in video games, new metaverses or even host meetings for companies who want to feel they are in the Yosemite Valley. It can also be utilized for education and preservation, which is what truly excites us about WEB3 technology and NFTs.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

3D and virtual reality technology has come a long way in recent years, and it shows great promise for preserving historical sites and places of cultural importance. Our goal is to use this technology to create digital archives of iconic and significant locations from all over the globe. This will not only provide a valuable resource for researchers and historians, but it will also allow people to experience these places in a completely new way. We are committed to providing accurate and detailed 3D models that capture the essence of each place, and we hope that our work will help to preserve these important locations for future generations.
