Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

I hope my legacy is a household name & lives from generation to generation. I pray everyday for my motivation and discipline, because sometimes it’s hard to have self motivation. But I have to want it and stay hungry if I want my kids (kids) to live through things I can now only work for to imagine. So sometimes when I speak I have to catch myself, like answering this question saying I hope. I want to redo my answer to your question. I know for A FACT my legacy will be a household name and live from generation to generation.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Megan Jackson and I’m the owner of B:U. B:U is acronym for be yourself. I graduated from the The Art Institute of Charlotte for Fashion Marketing & Management and came up with my brand name while I was in school. I started with a blog and gradually started to see how I could monetize from it. I first started distressing denim, then I started selling t-shirts, now I have a mobile boutique & online store. My brand represents showing others how to express their selves through B:U apparel.

I’m most popular for my hand painted custom pieces. I would literally paint B:U on any piece of fabric I had & everyone started liking my outfits so I started selling the pieces. So every piece I paint is different & it not only sets my pieces apart from others. But also sets #bugirlgang apart from others.

I use to be proud of how whatever I set my mind to, I actually do it. But I’m a new mom so now I’m more proud of the things I push through for because of her. It’s very hard being a entrepreneur & a mom but she really makes me go even harder.

B:U is only at its peak and we going to go further. We really do appreciate the love that we’ve gotten this far. Our day ones who still share, like, comment and support. Honestly without the feedback & the love I would’ve been given up. So if you’re reading this and support B:U we genuinely appreciate you!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

One way I’ve build my business reputation, I never waited to send packages off. People on social media would wait until their packages pile up so they can post a video of serval packages. However you’re making your customer mad. If your wondering why Amazon will forever stay in business, because of prime. Send that package off once you get the order if you can.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Post that content! Everything is content & your customer is strolling daily. Don’t miss out on a potential customer with all that content in your phone.
