Megan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

I am originally from Boca Raton, FL. I went away to college in Chicago and have an accounting degree from The University of Illinois at Chicago. My husband Derren Garber and I started Fuel U Fast INC with the guarantee of Lowest gas and diesel delivered in South Florida. We kept our overhead low and delivered the same products of other fuel deliveries companies for less cost. Today, 10 years later, we are celebrating Fuel U Fast 10 year anniversary with over 5000 customers in Palm Beach and Broward Counties by sticking with our guarantee. As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My husband and I were using other companies and were disappointed in the customer service. We started our own family business and concierge fuel delivery company with customer service in mind.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

I was working as a dental hygienist in East Boca when I met my husband. He was just getting started in the fuel business and had just purchased he first truck. He needed a business minded accountant to join the team. With my business and accounting education, it was a perfect fit!

Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?

We now have a fleet of fuel trucks which run daily from Jupiter Florida to Hollywood Florida.
