Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Megan Adolph. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Megan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I think there have been a few defining moments throughout my career. I started my business during COVID and thought it was the perfect opportunity to start sharing what I love online. My ultimate goal has always been to have the freedom to travel and be my own boss. As life has changed over the past several years, so have I; letting go of a past version of myself to grow into a version that aligns with who I am today, not who I was years ago. I’ve had to learn that to become the person I want, I must let go of being in control by allowing life to just flow and learning how to deal with things as they come: the good, the bad, and the ugly. This self-realization has helped me understand that there are behaviors that need to be unlearned and new behaviors that need to be learned to become this new version of myself. I had to realize that there’s always a reason for things that happen in life, even if you don’t know what they are at the time, there’s something to learn and gain from the experience. Shifting my mindset has allowed me to change my course/path many times along the way and figure out the things, people, and experiences that make my soul come alive. I think that we often get caught up in day-to-day life, without thinking about the things that truly make us feel our best. Learning to let go and dive deeper into those things, people, and experiences that give us life is one of the most empowering and freeing things you can do for yourself. Allowing myself to “go with the flow” of life has led me to a position in my career that I had no idea I would be in when I originally started this business several years ago; it has opened up so many new doors, opportunities, and friendships in my life that I wouldn’t have experienced had I not took that leap of faith and went after what I truly desire.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been extremely active growing up as a gymnast, later getting into weightlifting, becoming a trainer in college, and graduating with a B.S. in Exercise Science. After college, I was eager to learn more about the body, intrigued by nutrition specifically, and found myself enrolled in the world’s largest online nutrition school, the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I became certified as a Holistic Health Coach and decided to embark on my own journey, starting an online business, Wholistic Wanders LLC. As a lifestyle influencer and content creator, my goal is to inspire you to live life on your terms and create a life full of wellness and adventure. Throughout my journey, I have struggled with staying consistent with healthy habits, working out, and eating home-cooked meals while traveling. It seemed like I would come up with this grand routine and as soon as I left for a trip, it all went out the door. I wondered why this was; why was it so hard to stay consistent with my goals? I also noticed that as I got older, and my day-to-day life shifted it was harder to get myself to the gym on a regular basis; a task that seemed so effortless and built into my everyday life in college became a dreadful chore. My mindset had to shift. Exercising is NOT a chore, it’s a reward with a domino effect of benefits! I came to the realization that the only way to be consistent is to implement daily habits that work for YOU and your lifestyle. I also realized that a routine would shift based on where you’re at in your life and based on your life circumstances. I had to learn how to adapt and be flexible. For example: I have a very sedentary job and I don’t always have access to a gym now that I live full-time in a van and travel for a living. So how do I stay active and consistent while on the road? I make time for simple movement. I notice the quality of my mood, mind, and energy levels shift when I’m prioritizing movement and eating home-cooked meals. Tuning into how you feel on a regular basis and paying attention to the signals that your body is sending you is mandatory. I notice when I’ve been sitting all day and working on my computer that I will start to feel tired and restless. This is a signal my body is sending me to let me know it’s time to move. That doesn’t mean I have to spend several hours in the gym; this simply means I take my dogs for a walk outside, get some sunshine, or do an online yoga or strength training class. Depending on how much time I have, depends on how long my activities are. If you have 5 minutes to stretch, AWESOME! Use that time to your advantage. Even if something as short as 5 minutes may seem insignificant to you, it can dramatically impact your quality of life and your daily performance. Focusing on small habits that you can consistently implement daily is what will set you up to succeed. Unlearning that health and wellness is not an all-or-nothing approach is one of the most powerful lessons that I’ve learned. You don’t have to have the perfect morning routine; it’s about taking those small action steps that will continue to push you in the right direction. The more you implement little acts of love for yourself on a daily basis, the better you will feel and the more it will empower you to do more of those things. I want to inspire you to take your health seriously so that you can go out into the world as your best, most radiant self and ENJOY this life you GET to live!
I share some of my best nutrition hacks for living holistically, reducing toxin exposure, and focusing on a diet fueled with real foods. I promote going back to the basics of life by living simply, spending more time outdoors, eating whole foods, and enjoying the simpler things in life.
I am also a brand ambassador and promote all things outdoors and off-road! I love the overland industry of people! We love to have fun, enjoy life, embrace nature, and get off the beaten path! Living full-time in my rig has been such a unique experience that has led me to meet some of my favorite people and get to experience some of the most incredible, remote places. I love getting to share helpful tips about living on the road, my struggles, and things I’ve learned and had to overcome along the way! I hope to inspire as many people as possible to go after the life they want and embrace the journey along the way!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of my biggest lessons thus far has been to unlearn the stories you tell yourself that hold you back from reaching your goals and full potential. There have been many occasions when negative thoughts and beliefs about yourself and your life will try to take over and talk you out of the things that you desire or will fill your mind with doubt about what can go wrong; the single most effective piece of advice I could offer is to ditch those negative beliefs and change your thought patterns. We grow up and experience many different situations that alter the way we think and view ourselves; we create this ‘story’ in our minds with limiting beliefs about ourselves and our lives; it’s your job to rewrite the story. For example: You may tell yourself that you are not smart or don’t know enough to make an online course to sell. You are limiting yourself to that belief. To attract the things you want, you must vibrate at the frequency like you already have everything you desire. How would you feel and act if you were successfully selling that course? When you vibrate at this higher frequency, you attract the things you desire most. But it all starts with you and the things you think and tell yourself on a daily basis. The number of times I’ve held myself back from opportunities because of negative/limiting beliefs has proven time and time again to attract exactly the opposite of what I wanted in my life; by putting my thoughts and energy towards the things I didn’t want to happen, I ended up attracting more of it. It was such an awakening moment when I realized that I was the one holding myself back by being too afraid to lean into the unknown. Little did I know that the unknown, outside of our comfort zone, is where the magic happens.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Believing in yourself and putting in the healing work to understand, challenge, and grow within yourself. You must be resilient and be willing to overcome whatever obstacles come your way. Your mindset is ultimately what will either make or break you. Running a business, I think this is the greatest factor that has kept me going and has got me through the tough times when I want to give up. Knowing that whatever I am dealing with at the moment will pass and something greater lies ahead. You have to be your biggest supporter when the going gets tough because it’s you who you’ll always have to fall back on. You must believe you can do whatever it is that you desire because YOU CAN, and it all starts with believing that you have the power within yourself to make it happen for YOU.
