Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Meg Meredith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Meg, appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?
I can tell you from the heart, working under the owners of this company has been the most rewarding professional experience of my life. They aren’t just “bosses”; they’re true leaders who embody what it means to care for their people, both personally and professionally. They’ve created a culture where every individual feels seen, supported, and encouraged to grow, not just in their career, but in life. I’ve never been part of a team so genuine in their care for one another, so committed to lifting each other up, and so determined to succeed together. Their leadership sets the tone: collaboration over competition, encouragement over criticism, and respect above all else. Simply put, they’ve set a standard for what leadership should look like, and I feel deeply grateful to be part of the team they’ve built.

Meg, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As Marketing Director, there’s something special about being part of the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand. It’s more than a name—it’s a promise of trust, lifestyle, and legacy that elevates our firm as the leading real estate brand in the area, because truly, Nobody Knows Homes Better℠. What makes it even more meaningful is that I don’t just get to market the BHGRE Journey story, I get to partner with our agents, teaching and training them on how to build their own personal brands. That’s the secret sauce: aligning the power of a nationally recognized lifestyle brand with the individuality of agents who work tirelessly to make every client’s experience not just successful, but memorable. Together, we’re not just selling homes, we’re shaping stories, creating journeys, and building a brand that reflects both excellence and authenticity.
As much as my role is about elevating our online presence, producing events with excellence and feel-good energy, and crafting communication and advertising that lean into the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand while setting our firm apart, it’s also about something deeper. At the end of the day, this business isn’t just about polished marketing campaigns, metrics, or production numbers—it’s about people. Every relationship matters. Every story matters. Every agent, client, and connection deserves to feel valued beyond the transaction. Success for us is measured not only in sales, but in the trust we build, the journeys we share, and the community we grow together.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
From where I sit today as Marketing Director, it almost feels surreal to look back on how I got here. Not so long ago, life looked completely different—I was facing foreclosure, walking through divorce, navigating life as a brand-new full-time single mom after years as a stay-at-home mom, unemployed, and in grad school studying something entirely different than what I do now. It was a season of uncertainty and reinvention, and when this opportunity opened up, I took a risk by applying. The bigger story is that the owners of this company took a risk on me, too. Someone once told me that jumping is hard, but landing is easy—and I’ve learned that to be true. Sometimes the scariest leap into the unknown brings you exactly where you were meant to be. If you’re willing to pivot, to release your old plan and embrace an entirely new one, you just might find yourself surrounded by support, thriving in ways you never imagined, and doing work that feels not just like a job, but like a calling.
My creative side has always been the constant undercurrent that fuels everything I do. I’m an illustrator, poet, writer, photographer, and self-proclaimed theater nerd—and that imagination, curiosity, and storytelling instinct shows up in my work every single day. I’ve always been the “side hustle” type of girlie, juggling passion projects and creative outlets, but right now my focus is on building this career and channeling that creativity into marketing, branding, and leadership. All those pieces of me—words, images, performance, story—have become my fuel and my trajectory. And honestly? I’m excited to see where it all takes me next, but I’ve never been more grateful to have landed in the place that I did.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Reputation is a funny thing—it isn’t something we fully control. It’s really other people’s perception of how we show up in the world and the heart we put into our work. We can certainly be intentional about the way we present ourselves, both as a company and as individuals, but at the end of the day, reputation is earned, not managed. It’s the byproduct of consistency, authenticity, and the impact we leave on the people and communities we serve.
What’s helped me build my reputation in this market is staying true to who I am while aligning with the values of the brand I represent. I’ve been told I bring a calm presence to high-pressure situations, and I think that matters in an industry that can often feel chaotic—being steady, driven, and solution-oriented builds trust. I’ve worked hard to be respected as someone who inspires, not just directs, and I try to approach every challenge with both strategy and heart. As a firm, we’ve built our reputation the same way—by being consistent in the story we tell through social media, advertising, and most importantly, how our agents conduct their business. Our core values of passion, authenticity, inclusion, community growth, and excellence are more than words; they shape how we show up every day. That’s why people know they can count on us—not just to buy or sell a home, but to make the journey meaningful, supportive, and memorable.
