We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Meg King a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Meg , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My passion is coaching and consulting women entrepreneurs and business owners because there was once a time when I felt “held hostage” by my life and my business…
It started in grade school when I was told by my teacher that I was stupid. It wasn’t until later in life that I found out that I am dyslexic. But how do you undo all the years of stories and baggage? Not easily, not alone, and with great tools.
Long story short, I ended up learning the hard way with skinned knees, bloody elbows, and a sore head! That is when I told myself that I wanted to help other women avoid the pitfalls and the headaches I have endured.
My mission is to share my knowledge and support female entrepreneurs, doctors, and dentists in transforming their business models and elevating their guest and patient experiences to exceptional levels. Taking clients from exhaustion, overwhelm, and burnout to clarity, confidence, ease, and sustainable success. All with a heart-centered approach that integrates mindset shifts with practical, results-driven approaches that create lasting change!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Dreams can turn into nightmares in just the blink of an eye! It happened to me. Leaving me feeling overwhelmed, confused, broke, and operating out of sheer chaos. But the lessons I have learned on my journey are what landed me in the field of coaching and consulting.
I started in the salon industry. As a great technician, to me, it made sense that I would make a great salon owner- I was dead wrong! Great customer service only takes you so far.
I was not a great student in school, and as an adult, I discovered I was dyslexic. On top of that, I didn’t know what I didn’t know when it came to running a business; it was chaos. I was nearly broke when I said yes to hiring a consulting company. That is when I realized coaching and consulting were in my future.
Despite the positives of my dream coming true as a business owner, my dream turned into a nightmare. My husband died, I lost my house, and then I lost my business, all within 18 months.
During my time of healing, I graduated from an ICF-accredited Life Coaching Program. By working on myself, my losses, my relationships, and my dyslexia, I was able to take on my next chapter of coaching and consulting.
As a forever learner, I took on the power of Positive Intelligence. It is a real game changer of connecting with the root of your chaos. Once you understand the cause and how it sabotages your life, the nightmares and chaos can be lessened if not eliminated. Positive Intelligence provides a tangible practice of shifting from a mindset of negativity to a state of positivity and possibility known as the sage. The science behind it is about building stronger positive neuropathways in the brain that create a longer-lasting positive mindset. To help my clients focus on positivity, I wrote an ebook called “Connecting To Your Chaos” Reclaim Your Power On Purpose. It gives actionable steps to create and keep up with well-being.
I like to start my clients with my Positive Intelligence program and then take them through my Chaos to Clarity Blueprint Mastermind series. From there, we go into one-on-one consulting, taking a deep dive into their business.
Besides my daughters and grandchildren, I’m most proud of my clients. Witnessing their success, whether building a high-performing team, optimizing patient and client service cycles, steam-lining business, or growing their bottom line. My heart-centered approach integrates mindset shifts with practical, result-driven approaches to create lasting changes without sacrificing well-being.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
One day, I woke up to find that I had no money left in my bank account. The IRS had wiped me out. I discovered that my accountant, handling my finances and taxes, had embezzled all my money. I couldn’t meet payroll or support my family. I felt like a total failure.
Because of my dyslexia, I lacked trust in myself in managing finances.
In my self-development journey, I learned there is a gift in every circumstance. The first gift I received was support from my family. They helped me until I got back up on my feet. The other gift came to light later. It was forgiveness and trust in myself. I had to step out of my comfort zone and do the work to be a successful CEO. I had to trust myself.

Any advice for managing a team?
Vision, Mission, and Values are the cornerstones in every company. I always suggest that the team help to identify what values are important to them. After all, what they help to create, they will help support.
Another area that is often overlooked is fun in the work place. I work with a lot of teams, and those that have the highest morale have leaders who know how to create fun team-building activities.
Also, Leaders who know how to be vulnerable and connect with each individual to create a space of psychological safety support high team morale. It is okay not to be perfect. Measurements are evaluated and learning skills and assed to make improvements not put downs.
