We recently connected with Meeko Clavell and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Meeko, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
As a Recording Artist putting my heart on the line and my personal life on a track for the world to hear and judge is one of the most risk taking thing an artist can ever do.
It’s important and pivotal as an artist to write and sing about true events that has happen to me.
As a person who has dealt with poverty in a low income environment in Atlanta as well as being queer it’s really important for me to be a voice to people who feel under welcomed misunderstood and undervalued to evoke hope.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia music and art was always around it’s in our culture. I’ve always had the ability to sing and rap as a child. And it was always on my heart to try to achieve my artistic art form in a professional space.
It is not easy not by any means but if I can make just atleast a small dent in the world to make people happier then my goal is accomplished.
To ability to connect human to human is one of the things that I have to do as my mission on the earth.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Being in the music industry especially during this era of TikTok and Ai. The industry is very over saturated. I have been told no a million times. Either that was with being told no to business loans or being told no by labels, or turned down by American idol and managers. I keep having the drive to keep going. Quitting is not an option and even though there’s no rule book on the industry I find my self to constantly self educate and evolve to poke through the door. Resilience Hard work belief and luck is all it takes to manifest success. I refuse to give up. I will try being successful in my field until I’m in my 40s or beyond if I have to. There is no time on success. Just keep pushing forward.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think ageism in the music industry I had to relearn. I thought that just because all my favorite artist got there big break in there teens and early 20s that I had to blow in that same timeframe. Not knowing as a child that success is a marathon not a sprint. And not knowing that your Networth is your Network. So now at 23 my goal is to build my fan base and expand my network.
