We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Medicated Chef a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Medicated, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
My name is Chef Danilo Suarez and I created the Medicated Chef brand. My love for cannabis and cuisine was the main influence to create the Medicated Chef. I thought I can infuse all my favorite meals and treats I love to eat. After years of cooking and infusing foods I provide elevated cannabis dinners. I love what I do and sharing my talent with as many clients as possible.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I have been cooking since I was 9 years old. My spark in this vast culinary world was started in baking cakes. My first job in the food industry at 15 years old was working on a food truck. Then I gained most of my experience working at restaurants. It was amazing to know about all the different cuisines out there. Working at many different restaurants gave me knowledge about food and techniques. I was seeing and learning so much over the years being in this industry. My love passion for food, and cannabis created the vision for the Medicated Chef. I could not do this professionally since it was illegal in my current state I lived in. Then decided to move to Arizona to create the brand and learn the skills needed to become the Medicated Chef. After sometime I started doing events all over the Arizona valley. They would include private functions, sampling, private dinners, canna-catering, and custom edibles. For my private cannabis dinners clients can book me on a specific date. Also they pick the amount of THC milligrams for the dinner, I create a menu, and infuse the dinner at their location. The locations have been at beautiful properties like at an Airbnb, private residences, luxurious resorts, and reception halls. Edible orders are same process you chose the milligrams and I infuse the edibles you have chosen. There is nothing better than your favorite foods infused by the Medicated Chef. What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Definitely my passion and experience with food. My New York style cheesecake is definitely my signature dish. Also the informative and entertaining experience I provide at an infusion dinner. Marketing the Medicated Chef as much as I can by sampling and events. Also all the clients and dispensaries I have worked with. I also have done marketing videos for cannabis influencers on Instagram.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It took being consistent on social media posting video, pics, going to events, and making sure to communicate with my followers.
