Alright, Dina and Mervethanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

We (Dina and Merve) met in 2014, in the heart of bustling Boston, while pursuing degrees in the polar opposite fields. I, Merve, am originally from Istanbul, Turkey, and I arrived in Boston to perfect my language studies. I sought to enhance my resume by adding language skills, aiming to pursue a more dynamic and ambitious career in international business. (Dina) From an early age, I was captivated by the complexities of global politics and the intricate dance of diplomacy. This fascination led me to pursue a career in the field of International Relations and Conflict Resolution. My ambition was clear: to assume a pivotal role at the epicenter of diplomatic relations, the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Faced with the harsh reality of limited funds and quite expensive tuition, we both assumed positions at the Christmas store in the heart of Boston, and that is how our friendship began. We both had high aspirations, big goals, unwavering enthusiasm despite the tiresome efforts to juggle studies and full-time work. At times like these, life usually leads you to another kindred spirit to hold on to, and that is what happened to us, and our friendship helped us to get though that harsh period.
(Merve) I remember working for 10 hours straight sometimes, but still barely able to make ends meet, it’s almost like the more we worked the less we had been left with. We worked tirelessly, often sacrificing our own comfort, just to afford a simple cup of coffee. This stark realization was a wake-up call for me, and right then I first had an idea of running my own business. It dawned on me that I was trading precious hours of my life for something that I wasn’t passionate about so I can sometimes afford momentary indulgences. In that moment, a spark ignited within me, and I decided to create a life where I could pursue my passions without such constraints.
(Dina) I shared this aspiration, 100%. We bonded over our shared struggles and dreams, both yearning for financial independence and the freedom to pursue our ambitions. I aspired to pursue a meaningful career in international relations, with the goal of making a positive impact on the world. However, the reality was that we were struggling to manage our own challenges. The long working hours and late-night studies were a true test of faith and resilience.
(Merve) Yes, totally. Upon returning to my country, I found a job and worked diligently to improve myself. I earned a master’s degree and held managerial positions in prominent companies in Turkey. Meanwhile, my friend here made her mark at the UN!
(Dina) I remained focused on my ultimate goal till the very end: to work at the United Nations, where I could leverage my knowledge and skills to promote dialogue, understanding, and collaboration among member states. I was fortunate to finally assume a role in shaping policies and initiatives that address pressing global challenges, from humanitarian crises to environmental sustainability. So, no struggles and failures were in vain!
(Mere) We kept our friendship alive throughout the years regardless of geographical distance, and we realized that we could accomplish something great together by uniting our dreams into one.
(Dina) Fast forward to today, and we’ve turned that shared dream into a reality. Medi Global Source is a testament to our unwavering determination and the lessons we learned from those early days in Boston. Our journey has been filled with challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding.
( Merve) The experience of struggles and the sacrifices we made have shaped our entrepreneurial spirit. We’ve learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of seizing opportunities.

This change fundamentally shifted our company’s philosophy and opened the doors we had never even considered.

This client-centric approach has not only enhanced our service offerings but also strengthened our relationships with customers and allowed us to explore new markets and opportunities. It was a pivotal moment that redefined our business and set us on a path of continuous growth and success.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
