Meagan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I just finished recording a very exciting new project, I got to work with some incredible people and friends and am so deeply proud of it all. It’s meaningful in so many different ways, but overall just very proud of and excited to share it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Meagan Jaynes! I’m a singer/songwriter based in Houston, I have music out on all platforms and am just grateful to continue to write, learn, grow, and play shows. I’ve always written music and been a singer at heart, it’s simply never been an option for me to not sing. That passion was filtered through lots of things growing up; choirs, musical theatre, voice lessons, and throughout it all, writing music was a constant. I continue to write and work on my music alongside the amazing team I work with, and can’t wait to continue to grow in what I love doing.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Not so much a resource, but I wish I knew the power of trusting yourself a little earlier. Writing and releasing music (or any art) is quite a vulnerable thing, and can definitely be scary. Learning to trust yourself is so important and so powerful, and giving yourself some love and grace as you learn and grow.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think just reaching others in a genuine way with something that is so authentic for me- it’s a beautiful thing seeing your storytelling and passion resonate with others. Working with such awesome people too who I learn and grow from, and have so much fun working with, is such a rewarding aspect of this.
