We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Md Tapon Mahamud Jony a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Md Tapon Mahamud thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Currently, I am an Engineering team member of Goldcrest Post Production Company. Our team is a creative and technical partner whenever needed throughout the entire process, from pre-production through delivery. Prior to the shooting, we are here to discuss all aspects of your workflow and test the aesthetic impact of various technical choices, including camera, lenses, unusual lighting setups, HDR, filtration, and more. We also work with cinematographers and directors to build LUTs for use with dailies and in-camera. When it’s time to color grade the final.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am working with UK-based famous post-production Goldcrest Post NY branch as a Media Systems Engineer. We are giving post-production facilities for Hollywood Movies, Documentaries, and personal projects.
I also helped the 2016 summer Olympics to cover Modern Pentathlon and Rugby7 events. I was a broadcast crew member for the Japan Summer Olympics 2020. I and hundreds of broadcast crew members will help to broadcast the event to the 1 Billion viewers around the world. Olympic Broadcasting Services choose a hundred professionals around the world to make the event successful. Popular national and international daily newspapers The Inqilab, Ekushe Television, Probashi Bangla TV, New Nation, Bangla Mail, McMaster University, and NTVBD published articles about my contribution to the Olympic Games and broadcast industry. I and my team members helped ULAB TV (The first campus TV in Bangladesh) set up for the university student to learn hands-on post-production, broadcasting, and broadcast journalism. I served Diganta Television, Independent Television, Thakral Information, HAK Japan Tech Singapore, Bee IPTV Singapore, etc. I have membership in the following Society of Broadcast Engineers, Bangladesh Business Chamber of Singapore, IEEE Broadcast Technology Society, and Singapore Bangladesh Society.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Life is a journey. You have to learn how to enjoy every moment. I came from a small town in Bangladesh and I was able to create a spot for myself in the global media industry with my passion and dedication. If you want to do something big you have to dream big that is the mantra of success to me.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
A one-of-a-kind trading card, however, is non-fungible. If you traded it for a different card, you’d have something completely different. I own a couple of NFTs.
