We recently connected with McQuetta Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Hi McQuetta, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Can you imagine disadvantaged women never having a hope of living successful lives? I can, and became impassioned to form EnVision Proven Success, a non-profit organization and publication anchor under the same name that provides a forum to share their struggles, successes, and to strengthen the resources that help women realize their importance.
Too many women in our community are economically or socially disadvantaged
It’s My Journey focuses on an authentic twofold: being raised by societal values, and then shaping those values concerning ethical inequalities. With this project, we want to expand beyond typical gender norms and empower women to become economically self-sufficient.
Now more than ever, we need to explore how giving valuable insight into economic models of human behavior, through the gender lens, is the kind of evidence and analysis to guide policies that will ensure economic growth and stability.
Society hurts women’s gender roles. Economic inequality hurts women’s self-image and perceived sense of character; for example, women are paid $0.75 to every $1.00 that a man makes, quote from 2023 Pay Scale report. It’s My Journey offers insight into the female qualities that have been squandered by economic inequality, along with effective methods to restore each woman’s unique purpose and characteristics. By teaching women to be economically self-sufficient, we hope to empower them to value themselves higher–both economically and emotionally.
McQuetta, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the founder/CEO of a nonprofit and publication anchor under the same name, EnVision Proven Success.
My sight had recently been diminished so significantly by an undiagnosed illness that left me legally blind. Due to my vision loss, I was forced to relearn everything about navigating daily life – including finding a job, continuing her education, and keeping my family together and safe. I was in the midst of a complete life overhaul with limited resources – particularly daunting for anyone, especially being a woman who had already endured a lot of challenges in life.
I learned that I am more than a statistic,” and I have an EnVision Proven Success story because diverse women ” We don’t look like what we’ve been through”! EnVision Proven Success is my way to show that we all have the power to succeed!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
EnVision Proven Success has a professionally printed magazine that shares the stories of women who have regained their dignity and moved forward in a way they previously thought impossible. Their candor allows readers to understand the challenges women from adverse circumstances face, and that they have achieved great accomplishments and overcome daunting barriers unimagined by most.
Our publication “EnVision Proven Success” is the first and only publication tool that moves to challenge women towards self-sufficiency by addressing their social and economic needs about their work, home, and community. The publication has helped change women’s perceptions of what they can achieve and has empowered over 5000 women in our community to accomplish their goals.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
How can I help?
