McKenzie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

It’s not much of a story (as its just starting) but leaving my corporate job a few weeks ago to pursue art & Parrott Paints full time has been the biggest risk I’ve taken. As someone who has always held a love for color and creative expression, it was a difficult decision to leave the security of my job. However, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself fully to my passion for art and explore all the possibilities it has to offer. So far the journey has been challenging, but incredibly fulfilling.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m McKenzie Parrott, I am the owner and creator behind Parrott Paints. I have always had a strong love for art, nature & fashion. I started out creating custom clothing for friends and family, and soon after I branched out into selling prints of my original artwork. My art style is heavily influenced by nature, with a focus on bright colors & self love mantras.

One of the main problems I solve for my clients is providing unique, hand-crafted pieces that are not mass-produced.

Overall, I want potential clients to know that my brand is founded on a passion for art & act of kindness (to myself & others), and that I take great pride in providing high-quality, customizable pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful. Is there mission driving your creative journey?

I have a lot of goals that are defined by working with specific creatives & brands but big picture: I believe that art has the power to uplift and inspire others, and I want to use my creativity to spread positivity and joy. Ultimately, my goal is to continually grow and evolve as an artist, while also making a positive impact on the world.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I think the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing a project come to life. There’s nothing quite like taking an idea from conception, through the creative process, and finally seeing it realized in a tangible form. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the moment when you can step back and say “I made that.”

In addition, I find that creating art is an incredibly valuable way to express myself and my experiences. Whether I’m exploring themes of self love, relationships, or environmental awareness, I always find that my art allows me to connect with others and start meaningful conversations.
