Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to McKenzie Kelly. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

McKenzie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Define Beauty Medspa was created because I truly feel that each person is uniquely beautiful in their own way. Our job is to help you define your own beauty by creating confidence within oneself. I believe that when you look in the mirror, your inner beauty should shine from within. The best way to help bring that out is by creating confidence and happiness with how we look on the outside. I have seen many patients lives change when they finally look in the mirror and honor the unique beauty they bring to this world.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I moved from a small town in Illinois at the age of 18 to pursue my Aesthetic education and career. After completing school, I had the opportunity to work for many well know Physicians, Dermatologists, and Plastic Surgeons in Arizona. With each practice I gained more knowledge and experience with different skin conditions, treatments & lasers. As the years went on, I found a true passion for comprehending the complexity of the skin and the influence of environmental factors, lifestyle choices, and genetic predispositions on one’s skin health. My goal is to help my patients understand these three important factors and how they can affect or enhance the results of their skin health. Together, we then create a sustainable and achievable skin care plan to create long lasting results.

When you visit Define Beauty Medspa, at each and every appointment, your treatment will be customized to what condition your skin is in at the present moment, what you have coming up in your schedule, and always focused on our long-term goal. We may use the following tools for your customized treatment; DiamondGlow, Hydrofacial, Oxygen Infusion, LED Light Therapy, Chemical Peels, Dermaplaning, and/or a Medical Grade treatment mask. Our most popular treatment is our “All the Things” Facial where our Aestheticians utilize all the things you may need in one treatment! Before you leave, we will review your skincare regimen ensuring you have the safest and most effective results. We offer a variety of skincare products. We know this can be overwhelming when trying to decide which products are best for you. Rest assured, we are here to help guide you through the process and create a plan that fits your needs, budget, and lifestyle.

On a quarterly basis, we may recommend a more advanced treatment to achieve results targeting concerns such as moderate acne scarring, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, deeper lines & wrinkles. These treatments may include a SkinPen Microneedling or IPL Photofacial series. We also have a wide range of chemical peels that can be customized to create mild to moderate peeling.

At Define Beauty Medspa we want every patient to feel at home and comfortable. This is your time to relax and unwind. We have patients that come in from all walks of earth. We welcome you whether you are in your favorite sun dress, a full face of makeup, your business clothes or your yoga pants and your hair is a mess. Once you rest your head on our bed, the stress and outside world disappears for an hour while you close your eyes and enjoy YOUR time.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Over the years, I have grown to what I now consider a family of patients that have followed me for over a decade. I truly feel honored to treat my patients and their families. The best part of being an Aesthetician is getting to know each individual and then they introduce you to all of their family members and friends! It is like I get to become part of so many other families and groups. We learn through each other’s experiences and grow together. I believe when you are able to make genuine connections with others, it makes you a better provider and a better person.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

As your Aesthetician, you will know that you can rely on me. Whether it’s a question about a new product or a major breakout that came up 24 hours before a big event! I am here for them. I am committed to continuing my education for my patients. I attend as many educational events as I can to ensure I have to most up to date information and tools available for them.

Something I started many years ago was following up with my patients via text or email 24/48 hours after they came in to see me for their appointment. I found this created a great way to reconnect with my patients, ensure they understood everything we went over during their appointment and answer questions they may have. This also let them know I am here for them even after hours if needed.

I ask my patients to be open and honest with me about how they are feeling with their treatments, skincare, results, and experiences at Define Beauty Medspa. Their feedback is of the utmost importance to me. I explain to them how this feedback allows me to make adjustments needed to achieve the best results possible for their skin. We truly create a bond with our patients that creates a safe and trusting environment. My patients can expect a personal and customized treatment experience at every appointment.
