We recently connected with McKenzie Buzard and have shared our conversation below.
McKenzie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
Recently, I was asked to do a group hypnosis at a conference in New Orleans. It was my first in-person group hypnosis, so naturally, I was slightly nervous. I wanted to deliver an exceptional and transformative experience for each individual there, and that is no easy feat when each person has their own unique circumstances and challenges. I decided to focus on self-love because I knew that is something that we all can use more of.
On the day of the group hypnosis, I took the stage confidently. I led the group of 30 or more women in the room through a transformative hypnotherapy experience in which we explored their inner critic and uncovered their deepest triggers. Finally, I led them through a deep experience of self-love. The energy in the room was palpable. Many of the women were in tears. It was a beautiful moment of communion and community.
After everyone had a chance to catch their breath, I asked if anyone wanted to share their experience with the group. One woman, whom I had worked with previously as a client, stood up and raised her hand. After she shared her story, there were not dry eyes in the room. She said that yesterday, she had been on the bathroom floor, crying and wondering if she even wanted to go on with life. She had so much childhood trauma that was continuing to affect her on a deep level, and she just didn’t think it would ever get better. She called a friend and said that she needed help, and her friend encouraged her to keep going. She then said that through the hypnotic experience that I had just led her through, she found deep forgiveness and love for herself. For the first time in her life, she felt like there was hope and that she could heal from her trauma.
In that moment, it confirmed for me all that I had thought about why I was meant to be a hypnotherapist. It was to provide moments like these. It was to give people hope and a way to heal.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is McKenzie Buzard, and I am a Certified Hypnotherapist and Rapid Transformational Therapy Practitioner. My journey into the world of hypnotherapy began as a patient seeking healing and personal development. Throughout my life, my fascination with psychology and self-improvement led me to explore various healing modalities in my quest to overcome trauma. However, it was hypnotherapy that truly revolutionized my life. Unlike other therapies, it provided rapid and profound changes that touched me deeply. This life-altering experience ignited a calling within me to become a hypnotherapist and offer the same transformative potential to others.
As a Certified Hypnotherapist, my focus is on one-on-one sessions, where I assist clients in enhancing their mental well-being and overall health. Hypnotherapy offers a multitude of benefits, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions, self-confidence, and more. As my practice flourished, I found myself specializing in empowering women to transform their trauma into strength and self-love. With an intuitive approach and a profound understanding of the human mind and spirit, I possess a unique ability to help individuals identify and release false belief systems, unlocking their full potential along the way.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
To thrive in this field, empathy towards your clients’ circumstances and issues is vital, while simultaneously creating a supportive environment for their growth. As a therapist, it can be challenging not to absorb your clients’ emotions. Nevertheless, to make a meaningful impact, it’s crucial to comprehend their pain without internalizing it. Maintaining a perspective of hope and positivity regarding their potential for improvement is essential. This can be difficult at times because, as someone choosing a career in therapy, you most likely possess a compassionate heart and a profound desire to aid others.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If given the chance to start over, I would unquestionably choose to become a hypnotherapist once more. This profession has been instrumental in my personal growth, unlocking potentials I never knew existed within me. It enabled me to confront my inner struggles, facilitating a transformation into the person I always aspired to become. Moreover, being a hypnotherapist has granted me the means to extend this positive change to others, offering them the same empowering journey I have experienced.
