We recently connected with McKenzi Stevenson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, McKenzi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We believe kindness is contagious and so we’d love for you to share with us and our audience about the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
I think the kindest thing anyone has done is call me and say it is the best groom that they have had. It’s an awesome feeling knowing that someone really appreciates your service and the time you’ve put into it. The dog came in, was in rough shape, definitely needed a good groom. I basically had to buzz him flat, but his dad still called and said it was the best haircut. It was my first time a client had gone out of their way to call me and say thank you .
McKenzi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is McKenzi Stevenson and I’m the owner of Kenzi’s K9 image. I offer dog grooming services for all breeds and sizes. I’m located in Merriam, Kansas and I’m accepting new clients. I schedule by appointment time, so the dogs usually only spend a couple hours with me and aren’t in a kennel. I also offer pick up and drop off with an additional fee. I have also newly started loyalty cards, after every groom we mark it off, and on the 11th service, I take $10 off. We will reach out to you if on a pre-book to keep you on a schedule and to keep you dog maintained. Grooming is also offered Monday- Saturday.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective way for me to grow clients has been how I take care of my existing clients. Reaching out every few weeks to see if they are wanting on the schedule. Working with them and understanding when schedules change. Taking the best care of my current clients, has brought in my new clients.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The best way to build an audience for media is to post everyday. You can definitely post too much, but posting one or two things daily is really important. Factual videos that can help people at home I have found people really enjoy that. So I will post bushing videos, or products I use on certain breeds. Posting what you do on media also helps your viewers do it too.
