Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to McKenna Anderson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
McKenna, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
In 2020, I took one of the biggest risk in my life. I quit my secure job of 10 years at an outpatient, orthopedic and neurological clinic, I moved back in with my mother, and I started working for myself 100%.
The pandemic allowed me to sit and gain some clarity in my life. Although I loved my job at the time, it was keeping me in a comfort zone where I was not growing. I always wanted to work for myself as an entrepreneur. Create my own schedule and choose high vibrational patients that I wanted to work with, and now I had the chance.
The pandemic taught me so many wonderful things…a major thing was we should never take life for granted. We must live our dreams now. We must do what makes us happy and joyful. I knew I was ready to combine work and play. I was tired of keeping them separate.. I wanted to work, surrounded by nature not in a cold clinic. I wanted to heal my way, and intern help people heal themselves with their own energy..
It was the best decision of my life! Aligningtouch Physical Therapy and myofascial release was birth in 2014. However, she was the side chick lol.. I worked 10 years at a clinic full-time and worked for my own business online in touch part time. 2020 gave me the opportunity to work for myself full-time.
I was able to work with high vibrational patients, start a wellness event company, travel all over the world working/playing and allowing myself to be fully immersed into this healing arts world.

McKenna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a license physical therapist that has been practicing for the last 13 years. I am owner of Aligningtouch Physical Therapy and licensed myofascial release.
My treatment specializes in combining myofascial release, subtle body energy release with physical therapy techniques. I specialize in chronic pain, orthopedic and neurological diagnoses, internal pelvic floor and somatic trauma release.
My philosophy of healing takes a feminine approach of compassion and safety. I pride myself in allowing the patient to feel safe and knowing that the nervous system can relax. When we deal with chronic pain or trauma in the body, it is very important to have a practitioner that is understanding where your body is coming from. So the treatment involves a bit of talk therapy before any of the bodywork happens, allowing you to feel safe in the environment. I also pride myself with being able to provide a sacred sanctuary, my office is located in a private residency, surrounded by nature.
I also provide teachings in person and online on the Healers Haven. Here I teach a course called fascial energetics, where I teach people and body workers, how to align their body, mind and soul with fascia and energy techniques.
I am also co-owner of a Wellness company called Magnolia Retreats. My partner and I curated Wellness events, master classes, workshops, and international Retreats. Our next big Retreat is in Costa Rica this December.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I believe the most effective strategy for growing clientele is transparency, self worthiness, and doing good work. I rarely do any marketing other than social media most of my clientele come from word of mouth. I still believe that the most important marketing scheme is word of mouth. I also believe we are assigned to our clientele so the more we know what kind of client we want to work with, we attract them. Allowing them to come with ease. Word of mouth is so powerful that it last forever. I also believe it is important to take care of self, knowing when a client does not align with you.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think the most important thing with succeeding as a healer is always doing the work you teach on yourselves. Nurturing your medicine within helps you to nurture others. Also, bringing in joy to healing. Yes healing can be a lot of emotions being spilled everywhere but there is also a lot of joy as well. Keeping your self supported to a higher power, whether that be spirit or nature, believing in something higher than yourself.
